Description Hey guys! The project continues. Here are a few notes on this set:

-The Hawaiian-looking pig is from Nuts & Bolts; many of the Showdown Townspeople (Showdownizens as I think my friend called them ) are pigs, and it seems one of the basic character types are these pigs in hula skirts... very wacky, as we would expect from Banjo-Kazooie.
-If you're wondering why I drew Banjo's backpack as its own character, it was requested. But recently, I've decided not to draw anything else that wasn't actually given life in the games, to prevent things from getting out-of-hand... well, even MORE out of hand.

I'm sorry to say that I have closed requests, so please don't ask for anything else, as I will have to tell you no. They will probably be open again in a few weeks or so, but I felt compelled to stop them because, at the time of my writing this, I have 86 requests waiting.

So you see my reasoning. However, the character you want has most likely been requested already, and will show up eventually. Feel free to check the overwhelming list.

So cute I absolutely love these. I love the Gruntlings with their cute waddle, gorilla-like arms and hoods that a skull on the back of it. I also loved that whenever you got too close to them and they saw you they'd go"Rarr!" and throw their arms up in the air....like they just don't care...........................................Sorry got carried away there. I Roysten the Golfish too. That poor cute little fish.

Oh that's good. I was starting to worry. Well, when you do go back, I would start off by making a journal to tell people the whole jiff of it. Dimension D is seriously the best Dimentio Club ever~!

The best? Is there another? Has my neglect caused a rival to spring up? Oh dear...

Yes, there are a few. Trophy Thomas the competitive braggart (think Rawk Hawk if he was a cougar with spiky blue hair ), Grunty's creepy-ish yet cute sidekick cat Piddles, the bloated and slightly corrupt (bust mostly just lazy) pig police chief Pikelet, and the Lord of Games, a diety who claims to have created all video games... he's a TV screen showing Pong, with a cape attached.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-17 05:34:08 +0000 UTC]

Well, from what I know, there is another...I think.

Ah, I have heard of Piddles and the Lord of Games. The name Pikelet reminds me of Banjo Tooie for some reason. How far are you in the game? And most of all, is it really just vehicle based? I always thought (from what I heard) LOG was just a voice. This make me wanna look up the game~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-17 05:40:54 +0000 UTC]

I'm not really that far, but I'm far enough to have gotten the feel. Yeah, it is pretty much vehicle pased. You can get out and explore around on foot, but you're going to want/need your vehicle for most things. Especially in the levels... the hubworld, Showdown Town, is more conducive to going around on foot. AAAAALL the Jiggies need a vehicle, though. (Well, almost all- the only ones I can think of that don't have to be bought from a certain shady character, and that's just a few.)

However, while I do really wish there were some Jiggies that could be gotten on foot or from just exploring around, I don't mind the vehicle dependence so much... I mean, soaring high above the levels in a little plane, or rocketing through them with a super hyped-up racer, it's just a wonderful feeling.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-17 05:47:06 +0000 UTC]

It sounds great. Well, I guess changes happen. From what I've heard, the levels are really big, so it would be hard to get far on foot. Say, do you ever get to go to Spiral Mountain? All jiggies? So unless you buy them, you have to use a vehicle. Now, what do you usually to get jiggies? (A shady character?..)

I always loved games where you could fly..~ It sounds so fun, I might hire an Xbox for it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-17 05:54:52 +0000 UTC]

Yes, you get to go to Spiral Mountain at the very end, but I'm not there yet. (Omg spoilers...! Well, it was in the instruction manual. )

Yeah, you can get Jiggies through challenges, and you can get extra ones from four TT trophies, which you get from doing very well on challenges. And then there are a few you can buy (with notes) from a certain flamboyant frog

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-17 06:00:10 +0000 UTC]

At the very end? Interesting. I saw the intro in one youtube movie...and they look....tubby. Do they look like that through the whole game?

TT trophies...what do they do? I heard of one challenge that involves Mr. Fit.
Notes, glad they are coming back. Heh heh, flamboyant frog you say? I'm glad they are bringing back a few of the characters. Is...King Jingaling back?(He was awesome...)

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-17 06:09:58 +0000 UTC]

No, they lose that weight right in the intro, thankfully!

TT (Trophy Thomas) trophies are just something you get for completing the challenge really quickly or otherwise skillfully... and if you get four you can get an extra Jiggy. Basically, they're an honor that shows you not only completed the challenge, you mastered it!

Yeah, there are several challenges involving Mr. Fit! He was a much larger role in this game.

HECK YES HE IS! (Haha sorry, he's my favorite character and I get excited ) He doesn't do very much, but he is THERE, and he looks awesome.

As a whole though, the Jinjos have so much more personality... they actually have a lot to say (much more than just "HELP!") and they all seem like crazy little British people XD With adorable voices.

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-17 06:15:52 +0000 UTC]

Thankgoodness~~

Ahh, I see, so that's Trophy Thomas' role in the story, huh?
So, does that mean some challenges have a time limit?

Yeah, he was always so overconfident~~

That is soo wonderful!! Well that's great. Even if he doesn't do much, that's still awesome. Is he in Showdown Town with the others?

So, in general, the jinjos are returning to, hmm? Do you still have to save them, too?
haha, I can just picture them.
The game..doesn't have voice acting, does it?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-17 06:31:30 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, in fact most of them do.

Yes, he's in Showdown Town. I've been to visit him several times just to look at him and watch his idle animations. XD And you'll be wanting to see him from time to time anyway after completing Jinjo challenges.

You have to save the ones in Showdown Town, but there's a twist this time. (There are also Minjos, too!) In the levels, you have to seek them out and complete special challenges, and they'll give you a token. Take these tokens back to the King and you can play Jinjo Bingo for prizes and notes. (King Jingaling's Jinjo Bingo, why- that's just fun to say, isn't it?)

No, it doesn't. Each character has their own mumbling noises just like old times

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-17 06:37:42 +0000 UTC]

Golly. I'm not usually into being rushed in games.

That makes me wonder...How did they all get into that world? I thought it was just Banjo & Kazooie and Grunty. He is just awesome, I wish I could see him. What do jinjos look like now?

Minjos, too? Can you hurt them? Jinjo Binjo? Sounds interesting, both the name and the concept~So, is that what he mostly does? I heard somethingconnected to him and Stop n Watch...

That's good. Voices would ruin it.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-17 06:51:20 +0000 UTC]

Well, Showdown Town exists in Banjo and Kazooie's world, just the same as Spiral Mountain and the Isle o' Hags. It's just somewhere else that LOG transports them to (I don't know where, but it must not be too far away), and obviously it's a thriving city as so many old characters have wound up there over the years. It must be destiny that drew them there Mumbo, Humba, Jolly, Captain Blubber, Mr. Fit and others (including King J, although I imagine he must still live in the village and only temporarily visits the city). As for the levels, those are all artificially created by LOG, and he recruits several characters for each one to serve as actors within.

Jinjos look pretty much the same, though their snouts are longer, and they have spots.

Yep, you can hurt the Minjos!

Does something connect him to Stop 'n Swop? Wow, I didn't know anything about that... I'm not up on what SNS does in this game, as apparently it's nothing exciting and I don't really care too much to be honest. I used to love thinking about all those mysteries, but they belong and should stay in the past... SNS is dead- fascinating but dead- and it can never be brought back without killing the fascination.

But yeah, he stands around and you can visit him for bingo. It's not as epic as BT- but for his part, I'm sure he appreciates not getting his life force drained this time around.

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-17 07:01:00 +0000 UTC]

Ohmigosh. These comments keep getting bigger and bigger XD. I see, I thought it was like an alternate dimension, or something or rather. So.....the characters from the old games had already moved there? Not transported? Mentoining Mumbo, is he still in every level, or just in Showdown Town? I thought LOG was evil....huh. What happened to Bottles? Actors? So, like in movies, the characters are helping LOG?

Jinjos....with spots? Does King J have spots?

Cool, I thought the game wouldn't have enemies, due to the vehicles.

Well, I heard he holds a certain item or something like that. So SNS didn't make the cut? Ah well, it's not very clear what Stop n' Swap is for, I guess. It is pretty darn interesting, though.

Just the fact he's there is great. Yes, he is very lucky X3

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-17 13:59:42 +0000 UTC]

Mumbo is in Showdown Town and most of the levels.

LOG isn't evil, just rather neutral and uncaring. And he does seem to enjoy tormenting the players. "Did you enjoy racing Canary Mary? How I laughed when I was setting up those levels! I'm still laughing!"

Bottles is there; he's the tourist information officer for Showdown Town. You can ask him for hints, and about various info to refresh your memory.

No, he doesn't have spots actually... well, if he does, they're very light and hardly noticeable. He still looks solid yellow to me, though.

There are enemies, but most of them are robotic. Some of them just wander around and get in your way, but others actively try to knock you out of your vehicle. As for the Minjos, they won't be coming after you- rather YOU have to come after THEM, catch them and put them in jail

Well, "SNS" is in there but apparently it's nothing special... you just get new vehicle parts or something. Whatever... I knew any attempts to bring it back to life would end up with something unexciting. I mean, I don't think SNS was ever supposed to be anything big in the first place. It's not SNS itself that is cool, but the mysteries surrounding it. Take away the mystery and you take away everything that makes it special. Still, I'll deal with that stuff later, after I've beaten the game.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-18 07:52:30 +0000 UTC]

LOG isn't evil? It would be epic if he was. Well, I can see how he would be uncaring, he's a robot. Did he seriously say that? Awesome reference to BT!

Oh, no more teaching moves? I looked up before he also is connected...to SNS.....

That's good. Wow, I still can't believe he made it into the game~! Is he, like, in the main centere area?

I'm not surprised. Everything is robotic. Hah! Minjos jail-break? Interesting!! What exactly do you hit them with? I heard LOG says to Kazooie "you want be needing your moves anymore, they were old anyway."

Vehicle parts. How. Interesting. Makes me wish they didn't involve SNS, for the sake of the mysteries. I've noticed that no one has bearten the game yet (is the game really that long?) since not many people have put up gameplay movies.

Say...I can't find the answer anywhere....what does Grunty even do?And as for Piddles, is she just there for decoration?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-18 12:52:23 +0000 UTC]

Yep, LOG said that.

King Jingaling is over by the pier, in the gambling part of town. He's right across from Klungo's Arcade, as a matter of fact (Klungo has a hilarious and simplisically fun arcade game for you to play).

You hit the Minjos, and other enemies, with the wrench.

Well, people have beaten the game. It is pretty long, but not only that- in my opinion it's much more enjoyable if you take your time and don't try to rush.

Grunty hangs around in the town square and insults you, and you have to face off certain challenges against her in the game worlds...

Piddles, I don't know. There's more to her than "just a kitty", I know it, but I haven't progressed far enough to be able to figure her out.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-20 06:33:09 +0000 UTC]

Great. It is also nice to hear that Klungo is in the game~! I guess he kept his promise from the last series, by making SSSSTUUPID GAMESSSS.

So, the wrench is isn't just for picking up stuff, huh? So...err...they don't have ANY moves at all, this time round?

Awesome, long games are fun~!

Ha, that's good you see more of Grunty. In the other games, she'd appear in the start, then at the end, and that would be it.

I hope Piddles does DO something. I don't know much about her but she is still my favaroite character.

So.........any themes from the last games coming back? My youtube is down so I can't check.

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-20 23:53:05 +0000 UTC]

No, I'm sorry to say they don't have much teamwork that's not dependent on the wrench :\ But in typical self-aware fashion, the characters are always making jabs at that in the game.

Yeah, I'm really glad we get to see Grunty around more, and that she speaks in rhyme again

Oh, the music in this game is absolutely full of the melodies of the past, linking the old to the new. The Jinjo Village theme features prominently in the Showdown Town music, since both are the places you arrive in when you turn on BT/NB. The first level, Nutty Acres, has beach areas and thus a hint of Treasure Trove Cove. Of course, the Banjoland music is just a glorious, beautiful medley of themes from both BK and BT.

Piddles doesn't talk, you know. That surprised me at first, because I assumed she would speak. But I've realized I like that about her... it adds to her nature as a mysterious, magical and deranged kitty

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-21 05:21:04 +0000 UTC]

No? Darn, that sucks a tad. Oh well, but if you think about it, why would they need moves, since they are always in cars.

She's rhyming again?? Awesome!~ I missed her rhyming....I wonder why they took it out in BT.

I finally got onto youtube~ THE MUSIC IS THE BEST!~! BK music+Orchestra=Epic! I seriously love the jinjo village
between parts in Showdown Town. It is beautiful, especially Banjo Land music~! No youtube movies show Nutty Acres,
I want to see that beach. Isn't Mr. Patch in that level? Also, I love Grunty's theme, it's great to hear it again.

I didn't know Piddles didn't talk. I'm surprised by that, too. Nearly everyone used to speak.
It is interesting. She sure is deranged, especially in that intro(finally got to watch it~!) I really
hope she does something, like Klungo was. Although...speaking about Klungo....It feels sorta weird
him not being Grunty's sidekick. Changes happen, though.
Does Piddles....get a theme? Or do you get to see her after the intro?

Sorry for the so many questions, I am just so hyped by this game~!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-21 23:38:35 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, that's the thing... Rare wanted people to focus on the vehicles as much as possible. Which is understandable, but I do highly wish they could have given B&K at least SOME of their moves, like the wing-flap while jumping at least!

I think that in BT, Rare must've gotten tired of having to write all of Grunty's speech in rhyme. I mean, it's gotta get frustrating after a while, to try and conduct a major character's entire dialogue in rhyme. This time it's pulled off really well, though. I read a developer diary where this game's script writer, Leigh Loveday (a comic genius, in my opinion- he's the one who answers Rare's letter section, Scribes, and is the inspiration for Mr. Pants), talked about how many Banjo characters speak in broken English, and how difficult it was to explain things like vehicle creation using Mumbo's manner of speaking. I can only imagine how annoying that must get- but he did it well!

Piddles doesn't have a theme (unless I just haven't heard it yet), but yeah, she hangs around Grunty at all times. If you see Grunty, you can bet Piddles will be there too. And she also has at least one challenge of her own (and I'm sure there are more I just haven't gotten to yet).

And it's no problem, I love this game and I love talking about it

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-22 01:57:57 +0000 UTC]

I watched the gameplay of Banjoland, it's awesome, but I noticed one thing. Banjo runs so slow! I'm guessing it would be impossible to make it through on foot, huh?
I was hoping the wing flap would make it, oh well.

I was thinking the same thing too. But from what I've seen in BK nuts and bolts, she does rhyme perfectly. I also sorta noticed that she doesn't speak as much. Wait...they took away Mumbo's way of speaking, you say?? Leigh Loveday, huh? Did he script the other two games?

Oh, I wouldn't guess Piddles would (people in BK don't really have themes, do they?) So she's always around Grunty? Oooh, what's the challenge about??

Mkay~~

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

fluffycatgirl In reply to popplenator [2008-11-22 02:56:19 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, Banjo does run pretty slowly at first, but you can upgrade his speed. Still, you wouldn't want to be going around the levels on foot. They're HUGE- you'll want a vehicle. Showdown Town you can enjoy on foot, however.

Nope, Mumbo and Humba still speak the same as ever. I was just saying it's impressive that Mumbo explains vehicle building, and all the parts, to you, and it's still clear even with his speaking issues.

I'm not sure whether Loveday scripted the other two; I'm sure he was involved, though, because his humor is very recognizable. But from how I understand it, he wrote all the dialogue for this game, and I don't know if it was like that for the others.

Well, the challenge I played was a race... and she shoots all kinds of magic stuff at you, the dirty little cheater!

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

popplenator In reply to fluffycatgirl [2008-11-22 03:09:38 +0000 UTC]

Oh, I see~ What's the biggest world you've gotten to so far?
I'm guessing ShowDown Town is a nice little town, huh? Is it like the other two hubs from past games?

Oh that is good~Humba is in the game?~! I didn't know that~! What does she look? Or more importantly, what does she do?

Yeah, the humour in BK is pretty rememorable. Wow, one man made the whole dialogue? How interesting..it must've been tough! Say....did Grant Kirkhope make the music?

Wait, what? Piddles can drive a car? Golly. Say...does the game have....bosses? And if it does, do the bosses have boss music?~!

Thanks for your honesty. Really, it's nice to get something other than "OMG PJ YOU ROCK!" (Not that I don't appreciate that. XD)

Mumbo is one of those characters that I've always wanted to be able to draw, but every time I try, he just comes out looking wrong. I was never fully satisfied with this version either, but I tried my best. It took me two weeks of tinkering off and on with that request for me to finally be able to accept it and just let it go.

On the other hand, I found Mingy Jongo easy, because one of my problems with drawing Mumbo is he always comes out looking evil/psychotic, which was exactly my intention with his lookalike XD
