Description
My character Ilora, on PernNorCon, is Impressed to green Kloveth. Isn't she LOVELY? This is her with the egg she hatched from.I'm so totally smitten...
NOTE: The basic form for this dragon was done by bronze-dragonrider ([link]) and is used WITH PERMISSION. Here is the original link:[link] I slightly changed the head, the ridges just a bit, and put skin on it, and colored it, but if you like my pic, check out bronze-dragonrider's!
Hatching Pose:
There's a pop, a sharp crack, and the bright pink heart-shape on the Promises of Romance egg is shattered to pieces. A second later the rest of the egg follows suit, and a writhing, squirming, clawing hatchling struggles free from the mauve and purple segments of its ruined egg.
Hatching Name:
Everlasting Protector Green
Trembling from nose to tail now, the Everlasting Protector Green finally gives pause to collect and reorient herself. She seems to take a deep, shuddering breath and her small body quivers for a moment before going still. There now, she's calm. Calm, calm. Easy now. Her gaze sweeps over the candidates again, more slowly this time, peering at each one in consideration. No, no, no... wait. She pauses. Looks back at a girl in the crowd. Stares at her intently. Yes? Maybe? One step forward. Another, more certain this time. Her wings lift slightly and suddenly recognition seems to wash over her, her pace picking up until she's plopping herself in front of a pale brunette girl with obvious relief. At last, she's found her.
Private Impression message:
<
Temperament 1:
A delicate little lady, eager to please, happy to serve, and loyal till the very end -- this is your Kloveth. Or at least, the part that is most often seen. Ever content, she is one of the most amiable creatures you will ever meet, and as such one of the most lovable. Her greatest joy comes from helping and caring for others, and she will gladly place her own interests over those of others, especially if it means making them happy. But with this comes a fierce loyalty, and with that loyalty she shows the fiery nature that generally lies dormant inside of her. Any that threatens those she loves will find that this usually cheerful, good-natured green has a side that is not to be crossed, and should she feel the need to protect or seek revenge it would be wise for those not involved to get out of the way. Quickly.
Temperament 2:
Perhaps not the smallest of greens ever hatched, Kloveth is nonetheless on the smaller side and her delicate build only makes her appear smaller. But while she's a bit clumsy at first, like the rest of her clutch-mates, she'll quickly grow out of this and into a grace that will come as naturally as breathing.
Temperament 3:
During weyrlinghood she will rarely the be the first to perfect new exercises, or particularly excel at any specific thing, but she will never fall behind the rest of the group. Unlike some young dragons, who chafe at this phase of life, she will welcome it eagerly and with rapt attention to every detail. Learning is something she loves, and each new day will bring more for her to pick up on -- though of course, with her draconic memory she will need your help to file it away and bring it back out again when needed. But you are her partner and she trusts you entirely in this, and in return she will always do the same for you, when she can. In fact, she's always there to lend a helping hand -- or paw -- to any who might be in need. Always the cheerleader for another weyrling pair who might need encouragement, a tutor to someone who might need a little extra help, or a big sister to talk to, she has a nurturing side that is constantly seeking ways to come out.
Temperament 4:
This caring nature will continue on into adulthood, and will be applied to her life no matter what path it may take. As a wingleader she would be firm, but ever approachable, taking the responsibility to heart as seriously as though Thread might threaten her weyr at any time. Should she find herself a weyrlingmaster she will truly be in her element, taking the younglings under her wing as though they were her own, teaching them with all the thoroughness and care of a mother raising children. And should you, Ilora, ever have children she will love them and care for them as fiercely as she does you.
Temperament 5:
When it comes to mating flights Kloveth's fiery side comes out to play. Normally she is nothing but a sweetheart unless those dear to her are threatened, but when this green rises all hell breaks lose. This is one of the few times you must keep a close eye on her, because her flights will come on with little warning and it will take all your will to slow her down. Blooding will be fierce, messy, a whirlwind of claws and the torn flesh of herd beasts. Keeping her in check at this point will likely be one of the hardest things you will ever find yourself doing, but once she's past this there will be no need to hold her back. With her size and grace the flight itself will be fast-paced, and the larger, slower dragons that take up the chase will find themselves sorely outmatched unless they can somehow outwit her speed. As all-encompassing as they are, Kloveth's flights will likely end in short order, but they will always be intense while they last.
Temperament 6:
Outside of flights your green will view things a bit differently, preferring to take things slowly and cautiously. She may be ever willing to help and care for others, but those that find themselves in her most protected, most loved circle will not have gotten there easily. Her trust in you, however, is unwavering and those that you show favor to will immediately be in her good graces.
Temperament 7:
Ever devoted to you and yours, Ilora, your Kloveth will forever be the friend to laugh with, the shoulder to cry on, the pick-up when you're down, and the congratulator when you're doing well. You are everything to her, and she wants nothing more than to be everything for you. Hell and high water, you are together and that's all that will ever matter.
Mind-voice:
A sweet soprano, soft and gentle, this is Kloveth's voice. It's relaxing, comforting, and never obtrusive or disturbing. Even when she's angry her voice is lovely, though it takes on a steely edge and rises to a much sharper pitch that is a warning to any who know her to tread carefully.
Inspiration:
Kloveth is based off Mary Embrey, from the movie Hancock. When we first meet Mary she appears to be your fairly average (if perhaps a bit more beautiful average) content housewife and overprotective mother. It's not long, however, before we discover that there is so much more to her. An immortal being with super-human powers, she is nonetheless a very human character. With a hidden fiery temper, a compassion for others, and protectiveness towards those she cares for, she is force to be reckoned with.

Itchy spots:
The belly. Oh, the belly. When Kloveth is young it's that bit the food goes in that will bother her the most, followed by her haunches and finally her tail and neck. Her wings rarely bother her, but that doesn't keep her from worrying that they might.
