Description
So... remember how, awhile ago, I listed the HBR as a possible new weapon type for Destiny? This is meant to be the HBR as made by other manufacturers. Any HBR fires the first few rounds of a burst much faster than even a pulse rifle, with a slight damage increase for the second round fired if it hits, and a slight (damage? Accuracy? variation based on foundry?) bonus on successive hits. Though there's a cooldown before you can re-fire a burst. Unless it's really low-impact, you shouldn't be able to use it like a pulse rifle. On higher-impact archetypes, an inherent perk lowering cooldown to nonexistence is reserved strictly for the Five-Leaf Clover rifle. Which is exotic. If there was no cool down, then every other HBR would be irrelevant! So, what distinguishes these from auto rifles, or other HBRs?
IA
The foundry that brought them to the City, re-engineered from an ancient design known as the AN94. As the foundry that rewards aggression, continuous damage and fire, IA hyperburst rifles (which will get their own picture someday) give bonus target acquisition when the burst is done and a slight bonus damage increase. These fire only two rounds of the first burst with the bonus, then continues as normal.
As these are IA guns, they gain damage or fire rate and stability the lower the mag is.
Exotic?
1. Battle Balalaika- Does void damage. Has a modest fire rate and 18 impact.
1.Ultralight: Bullets overpenetrate and bounce twice towards any enemy where your hyperburst landed. They have increased accuracy and impact when aimed at an enemy that's been hit with them. You can essentially create a trap, a giant hail of bullets, with this effect.
2. Bonus Package: Hitting an enemy with a ricochet has a chance to return ammo.
3. Front Lines: Gives bonus damage and fire rate when engaged by enemies. This actually lowers the burst cooldown.
1. Five-leaf clover. Does arc damage.
1. Chilled out: Has no cool down after hyper-bursting. You can use it like a semi auto rifle that gains higher and higher impact this way, but it's much less controllable. And it doesn't gain accuracy and range like every other IA rifle that way, as it has no ability to calibrate.
2. Army of One.
3. The Headhunter: Precision kills re-stabilize the weapon and cause enemies to explode.
Suros:
Choice of either bonus target acquisition (moreso than IA) or bonus stability (moreso than IA). Also comes with duplex rounds that double capacity but cut impact in half.
Hakke
Bonus impact (moreso than IA) after landing all three rounds of its hyper burst on an enemy.
Omolon
Decreased damage from enemies hit by both rounds of a burst. I don't know how this would work, I was running out of ideas. Note to self - do not ever come up with an exotic along the same lines as the five-leaf clover that works like this.
Cassoid
Missing one shot in the first shot of a two-round burst adds a random bonus damage bullet to the rest of your magazine or to the next burst-shot. Which can equal increased damage. Lowered rate of fire to... ahem, "assist" players that try to exploit this. Attempting to exploit it should be difficult (very much so) but awesome.
Daito
HBR shots - as in, the first two rounds of a burst discharged - have no falloff. To compensate, there is a higher cooldown than other rifles. The higher the impact, though, the higher the cooldown.
Vanguard
Kills increase damage of burst and decrease cooldown for burst.
Artist notes:
...Yes, I did an Omolon HBR once . It's the one with the weird ball-mag. Also, I realize that Cassoid and Daito are virtually nonentities, but two things: Firstly, I... well, why not? I realize I don't know what either foundry's aesthetic is, with only scattered exceptions (Telesto, the Stranger's rifle(s?), possibly the Vestian Dynasty, and the Fate of All Fools for Cassoid, and the Jade Rabbit for Daito, respectively) to inform me what they look like. Secondly: At least they're not Nadir, huh?!
As it happens, Nadir, Crux Lomar, and Tex Mechanica do not make these. Nadir because... well, I have no idea what they do, (YET!) Crux Lomar because they just make rocket launchers, and Tex Mechanica because the rifle these are based on, the AN94 is ridiculously complex. If you're going to point that out as well... you are completely right, I just really wanted to come up with something else that conformed to no established weapon archetype in Destiny.
EDIT: Also, each of these - with the possible exception of Daito and Cassoid - will get their own drawing later. The next will probably be a set of three - Omolon, IA, and Vanguard.

I like the Suros one. If these would become real, and bungie used these designs, I'll be on the lookout for the Suros ones. Also, the Suros HBR has a sort of look as if it came from New Monarchy, which I think would look good.

The Suros one looks like it... huh. Well, shouldn't be surprised. They're both red and white. I wonder if Suros is New Monarchy's official supplier?

True, I was just thinking it'd look good brandishing the New Monarchy logo. (Considering I like the current auto rifle and how it looks)

Maybe this can be arranged later, given that I drew a guardian wielding this. Hmmm...
