Jim crash lands in the Avatar world a couple years after Aang's saga. The multiple inventions that show up in Korra just came up along the way while he and Toph tried to get him home. He'd explain and design what he needed, and Toph would help him make it by metalbending.Right now they're just sittin' on a cliff. Jim is starting to wonder if he'll ever get back to Montressor, so Toph is cheering him up. By nearly shoving him off the cliff, apparently...
Me and ~Lady-Hayes dreamed this up. We don't...normally...do this.
'Shipping Jim Hawkins with someone is apparently the final stage to knowing when you're an insane fangirl 'shipper. Consider this my initiation.
Toph's outfit is a combination of her canon one and her daughter's. (I drew this before Korra came out, by the way.)

Yeah, dang spoilerhounds. I think Mike and Bryan'll try to keep a better handle on that stuff this time 'round. They figured it out about halfway through season 3 and started only using really general working title for the episodes. (E.g., 'The Western Air Temple' was named 'Zuko's Coooool'. xD)

Oh my gosh. You need to watch it. As soon as possible. There's nothing bad in it, don't worry, and it just gets better and better and more awesome as it goes on.
It's got a fast-moving plot, great action, and jokes I still laugh at even the 40th time I've heard 'em.
Plus it's getting revived for another season in a Next-gen-fic type thing xD And it's by the original creators and devoid of all that regular executive meddling, so it's gonna rock...

I actually used to watch it and I was obsessed with it!
It's just... ...It was SO fun, but then it got all drama-drama-drama... Like, who's gonna end up with whom, who's not speaking to whom, etc. 
I know the ending and everything because my boyfriend watches it, but I stopped when Aang and Katara got stuck in the cave and almost kissed. I was like, "Alright, his mentality level is, like, 12, come on..."

I think you're talking about the fanbase, not the show. The show never had the Zuko/Katara pairing in question. They made it appear that way for like five seconds in one episode because it was a humorous prod at the fanbase, but there's nothing else. It's mostly just what the fandom would draw from an episode. (For instance, whenever there was a blue flower and a red flower in the background art of a scene, they'd be like "OHHH THAT REPRESENTS ZUKO AND KATARA!" I kid you not.)
Most of the 'pairings' are just friendships that the fanbase took as romance--because THERE IS NO OTHER KIND OF LOVE U GAIZ--but the bonds grow closer with each season, as with real people, and that's another one of the show's strengths.
You really should watch it, though. It's one of the greatest TV shows in existence. And I am not one to say things lightly.

What show were you watching? Avatar became more about the action and fighting, if anything. : P It only became about the romance if you were only watching it for the romance, that's true about everything.
I'm gonna stop arguing 'shipping, it's pretty pointless anyway.
That episode was decidedly spiritual xD It was a bit boring, but it toned down after that immediately, and only started to show shades of it again in The Old Masters.
