Description Confined to a room
Alone with no love
No life or no joy
A soul, trapped
Within boundaries
So small

The sun and the sky
Are but dreams
Never to come true
Whilst within the boundaries
In which I am kept

To breathe once more
To eat or to see
Would be a heaven
Beyond this place
Where my soul could fly free
But there is no escape
From confinment

Freedom is normal
For those outside these walls
They laugh and talk
They live and love
Never thinking of the boundaries
Which can take that away

Although sad
These boundaries are a home
Outside is so alien,
This here is my life
Destined to be kept away
Until my untimely end
I have come to love these boundaries
In which I have been confined.

True enough. Though I cannot percieve how poetry is selfish.

When you write poetry, you are putting your feelings onto a page. The more "depressing" they are, the more self pity you feel. I believe that self pity is a very selfish thing.
My thoughts alone.

Mame-chan makes a valid point, again.
Ebi-chan's personal belief is that people are allowed to wallow in self-pity at times, for selfishness is not always a bad thing, despite its stigma. After all, if one is not cared for by others, does it not follow that one should place oneself above those who do not care for them, even if they care little for themselves? Just a random thought...

I try my hardest to not indulge in self pity, even once.
I avoid it because I don't want to become used to caring about myself. D:
Everyone is entitled to an opinion of course, and yours is a very good one ^^
I am just weird and do not like to think about myself.

I try not to wallow excessively, but I tend to be quite selfish at times. It's embarrassing, really, but there's nothing I can do.
