If I could catch my fallen tears
You would see the pain I'm in
That has been bottled up,
For years and years,
Never showing through,

I don't feel like eating,
Or sleeping, or playing,
I only feel as though
I want to cry,
Only at night so you don't see
My fallen tears,

I don't mean to hurt you,
With my foolish actions,
I don't mean to make a mess of things
To cause you grief,
I deserve what I get
Though still upset,
I watch as my tears
Hit the paper on which I write,

"Sorry" won't cut it,
Nor will my tears,
I've made you angry
And for that I'm sorry,
But I know you won't listen,
To my seemingly hollow words,

I nearly let you see,
The tears that I hide,
As you shout harmful words
At me, only me,
No one else around me,
I hide the pain you cause me,

I thought you liked me,
Trusted me,
Forgive what I've done wrong,

Alas, if you did,
I'd be the one
To inflict the pain upon myself
For you,
And cause my own tears to fall.
