Description
A while back I was chatting with friends about what colors we associated with each day of the week. It was an interesting topic so I decided to take inspiration from it for a series of drawings and this is the first. I experimented with the colors a bit, trying to keep it mostly monotone with grays, black, and white with only small bits of color (mainly red) thrown in then shading with red. Mae's lips and eyes seem a little off to me and the pose could probably be improved to look a tad more natural but overall I'm pretty happy with how this turned out and I'm excited about doing more of these!

I figured I could use this as an opportunity to not just practice things like color and atmosphere but also feature some original characters I haven't drawn much or at all. This is of my oc Maella, she has a kind of blunt, determined nature and often doesn't think things through in the way she needs to which tends to wind her up until she gets snappy and has to blow off steam so I felt she fit this piece quite well. Not to mention she has red hair so that's also kind of perfect.

I associate red with Mondays, bright, dark, and bold reds. Mondays always seemed like "reset" days, everything laid out neatly and the atmosphere's determined but stress builds up without you even noticing. The sort of days you went through the whole time feeling fine then sat down at the end of it and suddenly felt exhausted. I'd love to hear what color(s) and atmospheres other people associate with Mondays or other days of the week.

this was ready to upload and Monday but I was too tired to write the desc and now I'm kind of disappointed that I let the opportunity slip past
