Description Birds chirped from outside of Trixie's new bedroom inside of the Canterlot castle. Trixie was already awake and getting ready as the sun was rising. She magically brushed her hair, making every single hair was in place so she could look her best for her first day as Luna's apprentice. After she was absolutely sure that she looked perfect she headed out the door with her nose in the air, her hat on her head, and her cape on her back. She headed towards the royal dining room; servants along the way congratulated her. Trixie did not acknowledge the servants; she knew she was the only unicorn in all of the land that deserved to be one of the princesses' apprentices.

Trixie entered the dining room. Luna was already sitting at one of the heads of the table, Celestia at the other and various other ponies such as Prince Blueblood were scattered along the sides of the table. Trixie took her new place next to Luna. She looked over at the empty seat next to Celestia on the direct opposite side of the table. Trixie wondered to herself why she had never seen Celestia's apprentice. Trixie had heard great things about this unicorn, how she had defeated Nightmare Moon and more recently Discord. She would inquire upon it with Luna after breakfast. She turned her head and looked at Luna. "Hello and good morning princess." Luna was beaming in joy, "Good morning our apprentice, are thou ready for thou's first day as our apprentice?"

"Trixie was born ready your highness." Trixie chuckled and smiled. Luna chuckled back,
"We have planned many a pranks to be completed today!" Trixie's eyes got wide; she wanted Luna to teach her more powerful magic not to simply play around all day.
"Princess, Trixie has just become your apprentice. Don't you think that you should teach Trixie some of your powerful magic?" Trixie laughed softly, "After Trixie's lesson we can do those pranks you've planned." Luna drooped but then brightened back up.
"Alright that is what we shall do then; meet us in the courtyard after thou clean up from breakfast." Trixie smiled and started her meal.

Luna had finished her meal early and headed out to get ready for giving her first lesson. Once Trixie finished her own meal she excused herself from the table and slowly walked out of the dining room with her nose in the air. Once she was out, she looked around and once she was sure that no pony was watching her, Trixie galloped off towards to court yard with a large smile across her face.

Outside, Luna was pacing around the courtyard while biting her lip. 'What could we teach Trixie? We have never been a good teacher.' She sighed and tried to smile as Trixie ran up to her. Trixie sat in front of the princess, "Princess, Trixie is ready to be taught." She nodded to herself confidently.

"R-right," Luna looked around nervously but then suddenly perked up, "We will be right back!" She ran off as fast as she could back into the castle. Trixie sat on the grass confused, she hung her head down.

Inside the castle Luna rushed into the throne room, Celestia was sitting on her throne reading another letter from Twilight Sparkle. "Sister, sister!" Luna yelled, "I need help with teaching my apprentice. I am unsure of what to do." Celestia laughed softly and smiled,

"What did you say you'd teach her?"

"I told her that I would teach her powerful magic."

"As a unicorn herself, Trixie should know that real magic comes from the heart not from any special tricks. Just tell her to believe in herself and study hard and she shall become as great as she believes she is."

"Thank you Tia!"  Luna smiled and started to run back to the courtyard. Once she got to
Trixie she attempted to copy the lecture Celestia had told her to give Trixie. "Trixie! All thou hast to do to teach yourself is erm…" She paused and collected her thoughts, "oh yes we remember! All thou hast to do is believe in studying!" Luna smiled and excitedly said, "Now let us do many pranks!" Luna started to trot back towards to castle. Trixie sat still with an apathetic face. Luna turned around and immediately understood that Trixie was not satisfied with the lecture that she had received. Luna walked back over to Trixie and asked, 'Why do thou want to learn such magic anyway?" Trixie sighed and prepared to tell her version of the story.

Trixie growled to herself as she pulled her own cart into Ponyville, she did not have enough bits at the moment to hire colts to carry the carriage for her. Two small
unicorn colts were playing on the side of the road. They looked up at her in excitement.

"Who are you?" The shorter one asked. Trixie smirked,

"It is I the Great and Powerful Trixie!" Trixie thought of a wonderful idea on how to
bring in a large crowd by using these two colts.

"The Great and Powerful Trixie," The taller one scratched his head, "wait! Are you like a really powerful unicorn wizard?" Trixie smiled,

"Of course I am, have you not heard of the amazing feats of the Great and All Powerful Trixie?"

"N-No I mean, oh yeah of course the Great and Powerful Trixie, c'mon snips lets go tell everypony in town that the Great and Powerful Trixie is here!" The two ran off towards the town. Trixie smirked, that ought to get a large enough crowd.

Once Trixie had finally pulled her carriage all the way into the center of town she quickly hopped inside and prepared it to transform into her stage, she loaded the fireworks and set the timer. She stood in the center as the carriage transformed into a large stage smoke shattered all throughout the stage and Trixie started to perform her show. A Rainbow Pegasus yelled out,

"Magic smagic, boo!" Trixie backed up, her feelings hurt. Trixie regained her confidence and fought back with a story she had come up with a while back,
"Well well the citizens of Trottingham weren't saying that when the Great and Powerful Trixie saved them from an ursa minor!" The rainbow-maned one flew up to Trixie and in a rude tone said, "Only a minor? You're nothing I am more talented then you'll ever be." The rainbow one flew around and made a silly rainbow from some water vapor. Trixie took off her hat and magically bended the light waves to attack the rainbow pegasus. Two more ponies tried to out show Trixie, one orange earth pony and a while unicorn, both were
humiliated by Trixie's power.

"See citizens of Ponyville, I really am the Great and Powerful!" Fireworks went off again around Trixie.

It was night time and Trixie had barely made enough bits from her show to be able to make it to the next town. A boom was heard in the distance. A large vicious bear made from the stars burst from outside the tree line. A small purple unicorn was leading the bear. The purple unicorn walked close to Trixie and in a very aggressive tone yelled,

"So 'Great and Powerful' Trixie, defeated an ursa minor did you, How about trying this Ursa Major on for size!" Trixie backed away from the bear terrified, "I-I can't, I never have, I just made the whole thing up! No one can defeat an ursa major!" The purple unicorn
laughed and sent the ursa away,

"See everypony, The Great and Powerful Trixie is a fraud." The entire town started to laugh and poke fun at Trixie whose eyes had become watery.

"N-no! I am the Great and Powerful Trixie!" The town ignored her and kept laughing. In a panic Trixie ran off into the Everfree forest crying.

She ran further and further into the dark abyss that was the Everfree forest. She stopped and leaned on a tree. "Dang it Trixie you'll never be as Great and Powerful as your mother. All you are Trixie is the weak and helpless not the great and powerful! Trixie even left her hat and cape in Ponyville."

A light started to shine behind Trixie, it was warm. Trixie turned around as saw a large stone wall with strange markings littered all of it glowing. The golden light started to take a form and created the image of Trixie's mother. Trixie's eyes shrunk and she immediately ran over to the light pony with tears in her eyes.

"M-mother," Trixie ran straight through her ghostly mother and in shock turned around at looked her. Trixie's mother sat staring at Trixie admiringly,

"Trixie you truly have found yourself in a tight spot haven't you? Lost in the chaos that is the Everfree forest."

"M-mother I have missed you so much! Trixie was so alone when you left her alone at that orphanage when you… Died."

"I am sorry I left you but you know not all the magic in the world could save anypony when it is their time. I have come here to give you a message so that you will truly become The Great and Powerful Trixie. There is a mountain on the other side of this forest that I went to and meditated on my magic and there is where I became one of the world's greatest unicorns. I want you to go there Trixie, go there and live up to your name as my daughter. The way will show itself now go."

Trixie wiped a tear off her face and nodded her head. She turned around without saying a word and headed in the direction of a large glowing light in the distance.

It took Trixie days to finally reach the mountain. A path appeared to be open for travelers who wanted to make the journey to the top but it looked as if no pony had used it in decades. The land around the mountain was lush and full of green. There stood a single hut in front of the mountain. Trixie's stomach growled, she hadn't eaten in days and the exhaustion not only dampened her physical abilities but her magical ones as well. Her mind filled with hope of food and a bed to rest but then the hope started to fade. Why would a stranger want to share their food with some random unimportant pony? The wooden door opened slowly and a very old looking earth pony with a large grey mane that nearly
covered his face walked out of the hut.

"I've been expecting you daughter of The Great and Powerful."

"How do you know who Trixie's mother is? Trixie demands you tell her at once,"

"All in good time, now come into my hut and eat your fill." Trixie's eyes widened greatly and she rushed into the hut and looked around but saw no food anywhere.

"Hey old pony, Trixie thought you said there'd be food in here."

"Oh the food, Why it is right there on the table," Trixie looked back at the only table in the hut which was located directly in the center and it was covered in delicious food. Salads, daisy sandwiches, cupcakes, a fountain of punch, anything anypony could want were there, there was even a pinecone shake just how Trixie liked it.

"How did you do that? Trixie demands you tell her at once."

"So many demands you are not at all like your mother you know that?"

"You knew Trixie's mother?"

"Ho ho ho, you talk like she used to before I deemed her Great and Powerful. I heard she knocked that habit though, but yes I knew your mother. The food I magically created, don't worry though it's all real and very nutritious." Trixie looked at the food suspiciously for a moment but then shoved her face into it and started eating as if she had never ate anything in her entire life.

After the meal and a long rest Trixie was ready to climb the mountain. The old pony would everyday create food for Trixie at the top of the mountain so that she could focus on mediation and studying only. The climb was not difficult but it was at times hard to find. The path was covered in vines and leaves. After a few hours Trixie had finally reached the top. A small looking solemn cave was the only thing located on the top of the mountain. Trixie reluctantly entered the cave but was amazed at what she saw inside. The cave opened up inside and was completely covered from wall to wall in books. No pony could ever even tell it was a cave from the inside. There was hanging chandeliers, a beautiful red carpet, the book shelves were made out of expensive gilded wood and there were desks made specifically for reading. Trixie focused and got straight to work, she'd be there for three years the old pony had told her and Trixie wanted to make the best of it.

After the straight three years of doing nothing but practicing magic, eating, and sleeping Trixie descended from the mountain at the old pony's call. At reaching the bottom the old pony presented Trixie with her brand new black and gold hat and cape and deemed her Great and Powerful. Trixie's first thought was to get back on the showmare circuit and show Equestria the real Great and Powerful Trixie.

Luna stared at Trixie in awe and then started to clap.

"We very much liked thou's story and we think we understand that thou wants to learn this magic so that thou can get revenge on this unicorn that thou speakst of correct?" Trixie nodded her head.

"This purple unicorn from Ponyville thou speakst of, it would not be Twilight Sparkle would it?" Trixie's eyes opened wide.

"How do you know Twilight Sparkle?"

"Well during Nightmare night our sister sent us to Ponyville to celebrate it with them and Twilight Sparkle helped us fit in right. The way you described her in your story did not sound like her at all also Twilight Sparkle is our sister's apprentice."

Trixie's eyes opened as wide as possible and her pupils got as small as they could.

"What? The purple one is the princess Celestia's apprentice." Trixie looked frantically around the courtyard, "no wonder she was able to outshine Trixie. Trixie really is Great and Powerful this time. Of course she was kind to you princess, you're a princess everypony is supposed to be kind to you. Twilight Sparkle really did those things Trixie said she did, please help me."

"Alright, we will help you but do not hurt Twilight Sparkle at all or there will be consequences."

"Trixie understands." Trixie nodded her head and smiled.

Luna ran back into the castle and grabbed an amulet and ran back to Trixie.

"This amulet will amplify thou's power. We want you to be careful still." Luna put her hoof on Trixie shoulder and smiled kindly.

The next morning Trixie got into her carriage and headed towards Ponyville going many times the speed she had come to Canterlot by. Trixie looked out her window and smiled softly at her master as Luna waved good bye. After Luna was out of sight Trixie looked down and her soft smiled turned into an evil one. Ponyville appeared on the horizon.

it's a good story but when trixie is talking, don't put luna's actions in the same paragraph and vice versa (don't put trixie's actions with luna's dialogue). it confuses up which character is talking.
