I had this theory in my head a while ago that you can't mosh to something that's not Thrash. I now have a feeling that the theory is bullshit and please don't give me hell for thinking so but if you have anything to say against my thought then please do.

In fact, you are right, you can mosh with (almost) metal genre (for example, death metal o metalcore, depends), but, strongly recommended, must be with thrash metal.

Ah, yes I've seen some Death Metal pits. Crazy shit right there. But yeah, Thrash Metal is typically what you'd mosh to. I just have a hard time picturing there being a pit at a Judas Priest concert.
