Description
During a chat with , we talked about how within Enterprising Engines the subject of Gordon's siblings being scrapped to Bear's trail went pass quite quickly. Why not have it as it's own special, it being more longer than the regular RWS book and the subjects be more longer to talk about.RWS (c) Awdry Family.

Maybe, although it is just extended things.

Yeah, it being a special could be like it's giving tribute to steam for it's hard work for many, many years.

Indeed. I think Dan would love this idea. Enterprising Engines is his favourite book.

And for good reason. So much happens at once, and trying to interpret what happened in between stories is fun.

Indeed, more what happened within the story. Like perhaps Gordon and Flying Scotsman talked about how they should keep the spirit of the A3s alive now they're only one left.

That'd be sweet. And maybe there can be an expansion of Oliver The Western Engine, where Duck, Oliver and Douglas get to know their rolling stock a bit more.

Yeah, or have abit of Donald's Duck placed in Enterprising Engines: where Duck is given his branch-line.

And extending Toad's choice on being Douglas' break-van. With Douglas being confused cause he thinks Toad would like to work alongside a fellow Western engine then a Caledonian engine.

And also the conflict arising from Douglas breaking the spiteful breakvan on accident, thinking he could wound up hurting Toad too.

Yeah, perhaps he's forced to use Toad when he is the only breakvan in the yard and uses him on a goods train.

And this got him to agree with Toad with him being his breakvan.

With showing how TFC rescued the three other GWR coaches. At this rate Enterprising Engines should be a novel with so much that's been left out or just briefly mentioned.

In my headcanon, Donald and D7101 (with the help of Paxton) rescued Alice, Mirabel, Dulcie & Donald's new breakvan Ted, and D7101 scared the foreman off with his growls. This earns him the name 'Bear'.

mhmm, plus got to wonder how the Other Railway reacted to TFC keeping steam on his railway.
This line "that whatever happens elsewhere, steam will still be at work here." should of been said at the end.

That's a good question. How did they react?

FlyGuyRob In reply to TobyandMavisforever [2017-07-23 09:05:29 +0000 UTC]
Perhaps some, like Beeching, reacted in rants whilst others reacting thoughtfully.
Since it was mentioned in one of the books that "British Railways Officials are not cruel. They are sad to lose faithful steam friends"

Well what if there's a kid that really, really likes steam engines and seeing them on sidings and being cut up is like seeing the death of a family member.
