Tricky issue regarding the dialogue, however this page has thrown in a few confusions regarding dialogue order...

I was able to ascertain the proper order of the dialogue using my superior brain power obvious logical cues, but for future pages it might help if you keep something in mind...

When it comes to a character to the right side of a panel speaking before a character on the left side of the panel, try to make the first speaker's dialogue both above and to the left (or as much as possible). I've noticed you have done the first part (having the upper-most dialogue before the next), however if it is too far to the right, your reader is likely to read the left-most dialogue first... for example, I read Lunarstar's question "Where's Melody?" last in the second panel.

Try to make the preceding dialogue as top-left as you can. I myself have had to be a little creative with my speech bubbles to accommodate this with my weekly comic strips. :3

...I know I have a comic that would be a good example... I'm not sure where it is, though... I know it's recent, though...!!

Eh, I'm sure there are some examples buried in the 100+ comic strips I've done, but okay, if you have a dialogue bubble on the right side of the panel that goes before one on the left side of the panel, try to have that right-side bubble not only above the other, but also at least crossing over into the left half of the panel, even if it's just a bit, if that makes sense...

thank you. I'll keep that in mind next time. I redid the 2nd and 4th box. Hopefully that will make it easier to read.

Happy to help. :3

I was about to ask you if you plan your dialogue and speech bubbles in the sketching phase, in case you didn't do that. I used to add the dialogue and speech bubbles after colouring the entire thing, until I realised how problematic it was, which is why I add the dialogue and the bubbles they are in before going past the sketch phase.
That way, if the dialogue takes up a bit more space, or if I need to move any of it around a bit, it gives me the option to nudge characters (or the whole panel), or even shrink the characters a little so the dialogue bubbles don't eat up my characters, before moving on to the final lines and colouring. :3

I saw your latest page sketch, so I am guessing you at least do part of what I do. :3

I originally did the speech bubbles after I'm done drawing the comic but now I'm adding them in the sketches. I can tell it's going to help me in the long run.
Thank you for all your help ^.^
