Learning to grow up in the Nook wasn't bad, not at all, having the friends around that one has made makes it so.
But hearing the stories they tell makes Asa's mind ponder of why the world is how it is... he sees clearly everything made sense but a few strings always caught his attention, such as why a good amount of other Wynglings that were left to Nook were abandoned after being hatched; and not by people who couldn't keep them for some reason be it financially or something else, or didn't want to simply raise them, but from those from families that are torn apart or very troubled turmoil... those he can't stop thinking about... why... how... didn't love mean they loved each other... didn't family mean... family?
He didn't like thinking about it too long because he knew nothing of his lineage, he would ask Alma if she knew anything but was still kinda afraid of her even with the respect he has for her now more than ever as these thoughts boiled in his head.

Days went by and still, he was thinking of the meaning of how such things can happen... Asa just lets out a sigh as he is pretty much chasing his own tail over the subject. Looking up at the trees while he walked with light being allowed through the thick foliage of leaves, rays shot down... from the sun above... he felt lost as he never until now ditched learning to be out, couple with the fact that he has once more left the area of the Nook... he felt like just allowing himself to be lost, as something will happen if he does so. An answer maybe, to let his mind be at peace.
He walked. Walked. The sound of soft ground and grass under each step as time passed. Nothing but trees, bushes, and the occasional bug scurrying around and the rustle of leaves caused by a gentle breeze.
Trees started to thin out slowly, this started to worry him but he kept on. He needed something, anything, a sign to know what he is looking for...

Asa was close to giving up in his quest as his legs were starting to hurt from how much he has walked with no rest until he heard sniffling, he knew that was the sign he needed.
Walking past some bushes he saw another Wyngling under a ray of light, though they seem way different than others he has met. A single thought came to mind at discovering them, somehow knowing they are victim to the losing string that has been on his mind for days... He wanted to help, he wanted to do more than just help... he wanted to dedicate himself to others who needed someone and even more than just that, somehow... He couldn't really describe the feeling inside him or how that thought felt in any way significant, but he felt whole, as he has his answer now...
He slowly walked closer to them, taking the small flower close by her to put it in front of her as he sat next to them... there was silence for a moment, not even a sniffle or a gentle breeze as they looked at each other, for that brief moment of silence there was a sort of understanding as if they spoke about something with only a glance...
"Howdy." That was the word that Asa broke the silent moment, a warm smile and greeting to the green child. "I might not know you... but I feel like I should tell you... that friends are family also... and there is always hope..." Those words just seem to flow out of him like if he somehow knew those words should be used... The green Wyngling just blinked her tear stained eyes at him... before crying once more as they remember what has recently happened. That day Asa also learned that he cries when others that he cares about cry, and that he holds up loyalty even higher now.

Oh and also the flower was as a gift to cheer up them, just wanted to put that out.
