Description
fz28infrared filter, suntec ir72
tripod
photoshop auto levels and red/blue channel swap.
blended 3 exposures adjusted individually for the sky, grass, and shed. Might work on it yet.
This is a shed on my parents farm, and a neat november sky. sorry for the noise in the photo, that seems to be a result of less direct sunlight in the late fall.

it's infrared photography, it makes everything look weird. It uses light that the eye usually cannot detect.

it kind of is an HDR, I did what people used to do before HDR, which was exposure blending. Where HDR is automatic, I did it in a sort of more difficult manual way.

*in snobby art voice* mmmmmmyes, basically I did the most difficult thing with a near perfect execution.
*not snobby voice*
I'm still figuring out the HDR program I have, also I'm kinda scared to use it, because I feel like I'll be tempted to use it on every shot.
!!! I forgot to look at those prints you got when I was over. We have to make sure I see those next time.

such a snob... it's cool. and yeah when you get such cool outcomes from it i imagine it would be hard not to use it with everything...i'm staying away from it

you know, you're kinda right. when I composed it originally, I thought I was setting the horizon for a rule of thirds with the sky, but when I measure it out, it doesn't seem to have happened. Maybe I'll crop a little off the bottom.

Perhaps its only my perception.
Say if it where a panoramic view with the "extended" panoramic part to the right that would be coo.

I had thought about doing trying a panoramic infrared earlier this summer but then forgot about it. I should reconsider it. Also this camera has a 16:9 widescreen resolution option, so I suppose I could have tried that. Thanks for the ideas.

No problem I just feel that (especially on the internet) bumping ideas/comments are a good thing.
could infrared work in a cave?

I agree. There are a few things I think I will try next time I shoot infrared based on what you said.
I think infrared could work in a cave as long as there is some kind of infrared light source. So probably not in a totally dark cave. I've thought about trying an infrared night shot, to see how it would turn out but never got around to it.
