Not gonna lie, when the buyer requested a BG I REALLY took this as a chance to practice digital painting (been watching a lot of Bob Ross)
It was fun doing a bit of retro gaming history, but I gotta say I was very mixed on drawing this. The cyber demon sorta feels a little different from my usual drawing flair & I found myself wanting to alter his appearance more to my tastes. I never asked, but was pretty sure the artist wanted the retro design based on his refs so I didn't stray away from the old design much.
All in all tho, I think I was able to capture that old school asthetic (though I kinda wished I pushed the textures more with a piece like this)

Hm, it would be very interesting to see you return to traditional after all this time, but honestly I do feel your works do look best in the vibrant sharp colors of digital.
