This was my entry for Udon's Megaman Tribute book, but I didn't get in. I'm sure if I worked more on it, instead of rushing it during the two days before, it would've looked nicer than it does.

I grew up with Megaman. I used to watch my brother play it for hours, then I started to play them, and I've gone from there. I loved the X series, the Legends series, the Gameboy versions not so much, the tv anime (Network), and all the characters really.
In this tribute, I focused on the X series, specifically the games I own (4-6). And from that large cast of characters, I made the main ones fit within the large X. I was going to include all the bosses in the background around the X, but... time constraints.

We have X, Zero, Double, Douglas, Iris, Colonel, Gate, Alia, and Dynamo. Sigma is hiding in the bottom window in the background, shown with only with his characteristic diamond face markings...
The background is made of windows on windows on windows. The large warning signs are referencing the boss battle warning messages when you enter the boss room.

I was working with a new shading style, a mix of hard and soft shading. Given the limited time I had in making this, I'd say it came out decent.

Overall, I loved working on this, even if I didn't get into the book. Better to have tried than not to have tried at all!
