Nico woke up on a comfortable bed, unclothed. He looked to his left, expecting to see Percy sleeping next to him. But he wasn't. Nico unwrapped himself from the thick blanket, and hopped off of the king sized bed. He grabbed his clothes that rested on the chestnut colored hardwood floors, and put them on. His shirt was still ripped from the fall down the metal steps, back at Percy's apartment. He hadn't gotten to changing into fresh clothes, because of what had happened last night. The beautiful, unexpected thing, that had happened last night.

Nico walked down the italian staircase. He could hear the bacon and eggs, sizzling on the stove. He reached the bottom of the stairs, and walked to the kitchen on the cold hardwood floors.

Percy stood over the stove, waving a green towel over the burning pan; the fire alarm ringing. He could barely see Percy, because of all the smoke.

Nico started laughing under his breath.

When the smoke finally cleared away, he saw Percy ... and Annabeth. What in Hades was she doing here?

Nico's expression darkened. "Hey, Percy... Annabeth." Nico said, waving his hand awkwardly. Annabeth had a smug expression on her face. "Hey Nico." Annabeth said, chuckling mockingly.

Percy gave Nico I don't know kind of look, and sighed.

"W-What are you doing here, Annabeth?" Nico tried to sound as excited as possible, even though he wanted to puke. Annabeth smirked. "I just came to visit. Seems like you two have been ... busy." Annabeth shrugged, her face turned to sadness. But when she noticed Nico looking, her expression came back to pride and happiness.

"Yeah. Very busy." Percy said breaking the awkwardness, which only made it even more awkward. All three of them kept looking back at each other, in silence. Nico started feeling lightheaded and his arms started feeling soar.

Could Annabeth's presence really bring him this much pain and agony? Yes. Apparently it could.

"So," Nico said, grasping onto his black shirt. "Did you unload the car, Percy?"

Percy shook his head. "I was a bit ... occupied."

"Oh. Yeah."

Annabeth rolled her eyes. "I'm going to go. No need to be tortured anymore."

"So you're just going to leave?" Nico asked, trying not to sound too relieved.

"Well, of course I am. My Ex is sleeping with you, Nico. You don't think this is painful for me?"

"Whoa. Who said Percy and I 'did it'?"

"Oh, please. You two have been slowly letting that subject fall out. If you were trying to hide it, you guys suck at lying."

Nico hated to see Annabeth upset. Even though she used to date Percy, they had all been through a lot together, and he didn't want to see her this way. He didn't want to have Percy this way.

Percy stood, leaning against the countertop, and watched Nico and Annabeth argue back and forth. It worried Nico that Percy didn't try to do anything to end the argument. Maybe he wasn't completely sure who he'd chosen. Him and Nico "did it" already. Shouldn't it be easy for him to pick? But maybe Annabeth also "did it" with him.

Annabeth looked at the son of Poseidon. "Tell me, Percy. Was it good?"

Nico joined Annabeth to stare at Percy. "Yeah," Nico said. "Was it?"

Percy rolled his eyes. "Why are you guys doing this to me? Annabeth, I thought you said you were OK with Nico and I." Nico felt weight lift off his shoulders. Percy said Nico and I. Thank gods.

"I-I dont..." Annabeth's voice cracked. She put her hands in her pockets, and walked out the kitchen's back door in silence.; small tears trickling down her cheek.

"Annabeth!" Percy yelled, chasing after her. Nico decided to follow.

He walked outside to see Percy and Annabeth kissing.

He shed a small tear. How could Percy do this? Maybe he wasn't the hero Nico wanted him to be.

He ran to the house's front door, opened it, and raced to the woods that were just close enough to the house.

Maybe Percy was just some guy who wanted attention. He hoped he was wrong.
