Words couldn't even explain how Percy was feeling right now. Annabeth had came to "visit" without warning, and now they had just kissed! Percy had seen Nico had run off after seeing the kiss between him and the golden blonde haired daughter of Athena, probably feeling worse than Percy.

"Annabeth," Percy said to her, still trying to shake the feeling of that kiss off of him. "I thought-I thought you were over me. I thought it was OK for Nico and I to be together."

Kissing Nico was nothing like kissing Annabeth. Nico's lips were soft and smooth, and Annabeth's were rough and tasteless. Annabeth's lips used to be like Nico's, but Percy wasn't ever even in love with Annabeth and Nico and Percy never talked.

"You thought wrong." The daughter of Athena said, small tears trickling down her right cheek. "It's not OK.

I can't-No I won't, believe that you never had feelings for me, Percy Jackson. It couldn't all be a lie. It just couldn't."

Percy dreaded seeing her this way. Percy did love Annabeth. Just not the way he wanted to love her. Maybe as a friend or a sister. But Nico was the one Percy really cared for.

"It wasn't all a lie, Annabeth," Percy started, feeling more horrible than ever. "I love you. But not the way you'd hope I would. I sealed the deal with Nico last night. I can't love a girl the way I love Nico. I can't love you that way, Annabeth. But I do love you. Like a best, best friend."

Annabeth sighed, her breath shaking as she relaxed her shoulder and a few more tears rolled down her soft cheek, slowly. "Okay," Annabeth said, as her hair danced in the cool breeze. "But I hope you understand, Percy. I will never stop loving you. And I can't see you again. Ever. Its too painful and I can't take it."

She stepped closer to Percy and gave him a meaningful kiss on the cheek. She clenched her fists and tightened her shoulders, when she pulled away slowly. "Goodbye, Percy. I will always love you."

With that, she turned around, opened the outside gate, and left the beach home in Montauk.

Percy sighed deathly deep. He felt a small tear climb down his face, as his stomach felt like it dropped 50 feet down.

Dang. Percy had almsot forgotten.

Nico.

He walked back inside the beach house, and exited through the front door. Percy ran around the property, searching for his love. He finally found a dark spot, deep in the woods, that made you feel sad and angry when you stepped throughout it. Nico was definitely here.

"Di Angelo!" Percy yelled, yearning for his sight. "Where are you?"

He could feel Nico's presence. He could feel Nico's feelings around the area.

The place became darker and darker. Percy knew Nico's eyes were on him at this very moment. He just had to look a little harder, to see the shadow of a hurt son of Hades.

Percy suddenly heard a crack of a twig behind where he was standing. He turned quickly and quietly.

Percy peeked his head behind the tree, of which he heard the crack from. Nothing. He then heard running footsteps break the autumn leaves behind him. He turned around quickly and saw the son of Hades making a run for it. "Nico!" Percy shouted. "Stop!"

After a few more minutes of shouting at Nico, the heartbroken boy finally stopped. "What, Percy?" Nico asked, his eyes filled with disgust, pain, and heartbreak.

"What you saw," Percy started. "I didn't kiss her. It was the other way around."

Nico sighed, looking a little less pained, but a little more untrusting. "Why should I believe that?"

Percy expected that this wouldn't be easy. After all, Nico's fatal flaw was holding a grudge. "Because of what we did last night. Because of what you feel for me and what I feel for you. Trust me."

Nico looked like he was about to cry. His eyes looked like glass. They could shatter at any moment. "I-I don't know, Percy. I've been let down so many times before, it scares me to take that risk again."

That made Percy's heart drop. It made him feel like he had to do everything in his power to make Nico happy. "Take this risk with me, Nico. I love you."
