Yah, most of the time I just do pretty swirlies or something XD I just can't tell you how cool this piece is... it looks all cybernetic. like I couldn't tell there was a tunnel stock in it until I saw the link in the artist's comments, and then I had to consciously search for what was the stock part. XD well if the style turned out this well here, hopefully it will turn out as well in your friend's bday pic!
and I totally understand the desire to get actual feedback on artwork, so I try to point out what exactly I like about a piece instead of just saying "sweet!" or something. it's what I'd like to get, so it's what I try to give ^^
