Description Outside is inside; inside a cold embrace.
The clouds are blue and hug the ground
and obscure the mountains' gaze.

Indoors is warm and loving
the lamps shine yellow hues
yet through a window pane I stare
entranced by natures ways.

Though the trees are green I see a few
who've begun to take the grass's cues.
They'll be orange soon, I know,
the time of year tells me so;
and soon there will be no leaves at all.

I cannot stay in this place forever,
this library where I often find myself.
Books, they cannot be eaten
though a feast of other kinds they offer
but now my house calls to me
and so I stumble out the door.

Inside, I'm outside; outside the warm embrace.
The sounds and smells of rain, they welcome me
to seat my mind in its rightful place.

It's not always that a poem will legitimately make me smile, but this one did.
I love the relatability in this piece. It's not pretentious, wordy, or difficult to understand, but it has a remarkable flow not often found in free verse poetry, and it's full of poetic gems. The third stanza in particular is a creative and well-thought-out description. This piece begins well and ends perfectly, and is a sweet testament to the season of autumn.
