Okayyyyyy so this was a huge challenge for me. I've been so busy lately with all sorts of school and homework that I've barely had a chance to work on my tryout. I spent my spares at school working on his bio over the course of 3 days, right after he came out. I had pretty much the perfect idea for this guy, and I absolutely fell in love with the design.

I want this guy so bad I'm actually dying. I even drew a person. That's right. 2nd person ever (pls excuse ugly anatomy idk what I'm doing). SO MUCH DIFFICULTIES. *dies*

But I really do hope I get him :l I'm way too obsessed with the design, and I'm already super attached to the character I created (oh god what have I done) I'm so scared, there's already so many good entries

His bouts of depression don't make him overly appealing to be around, but they only happen from time to time and he tries to keep them under control. Personality: Basil can be very hard to talk to, and he has a hard time opening up to people, keeping him isolated. Due to his rough past, he has very limited social skills, but he does enjoy the company of a few close friends. Once people manage to break his outer shell, his inner shell is sweet and caring, and he is very concerned for the well being of others, no matter what species. He is normally fairly level headed and passive, but will not be pushed around, and will grow especially agitated when it comes to any kind of animal abuse. He is fiercely protective of his pets and will not tolerate animals being harmed.

History: Basil was the result of two broken parents in an abusive relationship. Neither could hold a steady job, and they often got caught up in the bad parts of Junction City. The lower levels was the only home that his parent's knew. The second his father found out that his mother was going to have a child, he left them and cut off all relations, leaving Basil's mother to raise him on his own. Basil and his mom cooked many times together, and she showed him some of her favourite recipes. His mom was afraid that he would not make any friends, and so she adopted a cat from the shelter, and gave it to Basil. The cat was orange with reddish stripes and a white belly. Basil named her Wednesday, and he loved her dearly. She was fiercely loyal to Basil as well, following him around everywhere.
Unfortunately, Basil's mom knew that she couldn't support Basil, and she wanted him to live a more successful life. He was put into a foster home in the middle part of Junction City. The foster parent's, Kevin and Gretel Fisher, had enough money to give Basil a better home, and a more successful life. Unfortunately, they were not the most pleasant of people. They abused Basil, and he spent most of his days locked in a closet with Wednesday. Eventually, Kevin, the father, got fed up with the cat leaving hair around the house. He shoved Basil into a closet, and went to have the cat put down. Basil was absolutely devastated. He hated these people, and couldn't stand to be around them. He had to get out. He worked odd jobs on and off until he was 16, when he moved into a small apartment. He went to visit his mother, to see how she was doing, but when he got there, one of his mother's neighbours informed him that she had died of a drug overdose about a year earlier. Basil knew now that he had to get his life together and make his mother proud, so he could become a success in the family. He became a chef, because he wanted to bring people the same joy that his mother brought to him when she cooked him food.

Hobbies: Cooking/baking, reading about marine creatures (his favourites are dolphins) and watching videos of them swimming around, visiting animal shelters, handing out food to the less fortunate

Likes: Listening to music, walking his dog, petting his cat, people who are patient enough to invest their time in him, playing video games, spending one on one time with close friends, chocolate chip cookies

Dislikes: People who judge others based on their appearance, those who think he's weak, any kind of animal abuse, his foster parents, burned food (especially if he burnt it), people that tell others what they can and can't do, hummus, tomatoes, poachers, clothing that isn't loose
