Ohh geez... an Earth Pony whose entire life is earth and rocks, to be so removed from it that she can't feel it at her hooves anymore... that would indeed be quite a horrifying experience. And to her credit, Trixie did learn that she was being insensitive about it pretty quick. Maud was really truly traumatized by being pulled from the ground against her will...

Strangely, I find myself reminded of Pegasus Device, and of how one character asserted that an earth pony in contact with the ground cannot be killed.
