Description
The LAST of my ElfQuest WIP's...this one from 2008. O_O I'm not super happy with it...I think my previous piece ("WANT") was better, but that's probably because that one didn't have any remnants of an older art style. C'est la vie! I'm ready to be done with fanart, I think.Nightfall & Redlance (c) WaRP Graphics

Lovely piece! I especially love your choice of colors. His hair is captivating. I've always been a fan of red/auburn hair. It just seems like a bright, unruly beacon of "Here I am! Sassy, bold, untamed, and ready to conquer anything!" His partner's top is to die for! & Her long waves of golden curls look so soft.

Awwww, my prefered couple and I love this pic. It awakes memories of the first Comics I saw.

This is a beautiful picture of two nice elves. It brings joy and warmth to people around the globe, EQ readers or not.
But what does "I'm ready to be done with fanart, I think." mean? Oh noes! If you feel like making a pause that is surely okay since I know very well that you need a certain degree of relaxedness/spare time, inspiration etc. to do artwork (or especially fanart). But please don't leave EQ. If you'd leave the fandom what would become of eqfa?
Besides, there is always a severe lack of EQ fanart in the world. *nods*
(Sadly I'm not an artists of painting (or totally out of practice) otherwise I'd try to fill some gaps here and there.)

Well, I'll probably do something for the 2012 EQ fan art calendar. I'm definitely not forsaking EQFA...I'm still interested in looking at EQ fan art after all! I'm just more excited about drawing stuff for my own stories right now. I doubt I could ever leave EQ altogether. If I could ever become a *fast* artist then I'd happily do it all!

Phew. Good. I'm calmed. Well, I understand. Of course you've got more freedoms when creating your own art, characters, stories, no limits and no canon things to cling to (or otherwise fans will be angry ). And yes, time ... why aren't people generally allowed to have more spare time to do all the wonderful creative things (that eat a lot of time)? I have so many hobbies and things I want to do, it nearly tears me apart. Cause as a chemist there is little spare time. I even try to "enjoy" the time now being sick, so at least I can surf around the art sites and write comments
.
So I hope you'll find the right muse and time for your hobbies.

I love the tender way Redlance is reaching back for Nightfall, and the way she's looking off into the distance is beautiful. I really like your painterly style.

I think your art just keeps getting better and better, but we are our own worst critics... I think if you feel like you are done with fanart... put it away and after a few years or so you will look back and say, "it's been long enough' and you may pick it up again. I love your use of colors always..
