Description
Here's a rather amusing angle of my Anubis mask. It won the 'Anu-Best' award at the Further Confusion 2005 art show, much to my surprise and happiness.Horse hair, rabbit fur, plaster taxidermy mache, hand-painted glass eyes, etc. It took me months to make.
The original mask is for sale, email me with serious inquiries only.
A multiple-view photograph will be up soon as well!

wondering about the nose, how did you pull that off?

It is hand sculpted, along with the rest of the mask.

Beautiful work! A very dramatic piece. Did you create the glass eyes yourself?

Thank you! I do paint glass eyes myself but on this particular piece I bought the eyes that way (I believe they are lion taxidermy eyes if I remember correctly).

That is awesome!
And, sorry if I'm annoying or something, but.. Where did you buy the horse hair? :/ I'm looking for a place selling cheap horse hair .. once heard of a place that sold them very cheap and not "loose" but still attatched to the tail root, grose as it might sound, but I've lost the link to the place.

What sort of fur did you use to make this? And how did you apply it?

It is dyed rabbit fur, applied with epoxy and hot glue.

Ahhh, it looks so beautifully shiny! What did you die it with?

I actually purchased the fur pre-dyed, there are a bunch of companies who offer all sorts of colors of rabbit pelts. Dyeing fur in small quantities is quite a pain.
