Description A project that has been keeping me busy for awhile now is a set of masks for a large theatre production (more details on that soon) -a set of fully feathered raven headdresses

Here's a WIP teaser of the mask before initial casting. Despite the huge size (the mother mold was about 2ft x 2ft) and the fact I haven't done much moldmaking for about fifteen years, this process went well and I'll have some more finished pictures to share soon.

Will you be making and selling these? They look really amazing! Hardly anyone has done a good looking raven mask!

Thank you!   I do plan to sell some of the completed mask/headdresses eventually after this group is done and out - but I'll probably have to make a smaller, less involved version for general sale (this is huge and meant to have a fully feathered headdress part that extends over the user's head, neck, and shoulders - which makes them look awesome but requires intensive work/materials beyond what I think most people want to pay for. :>

If you could let me know (when the theater production project is done) how much a commission of one of these would be, I'd love to set money aside and get a work of art from you!

I have actually been working on a set of big wings similar to the animatronic ones my boyfriend helped me create scontent-b-dfw.xx.fbcdn.net/hp… ;, except the new wings will actually be my arms, and not robotically controlled. If you wish to work with turkey feathers, I can send you a TON of rump and body feathers!

Oh, how cool!!    I'll get some info up on the masks when I get the chance to cast/work on some more after this deadline - we might be able to work something out, I'm interested in a lot of taxidermy related stuff too (I love your work) so if you like how they turn out, maybe we can work out a trade.   Those wings look amazing - I've always wanted to do a full bird or griffin costume, just haven't had the time to really sit down and do one but it's in my eventual future!

Were you the one who at one time, long ago, was interested in a boar headdress/rug? If you were, I still have it! (miraculously!)

Or if you are interested in a set of the wing feathers, I can make some for you! They would be blank, so you can airbrush/paint them any way you like and I would install all the wires into the shaft of the feather, so all you need to do is string them up to an armature or if you would want to make them sleevelike (I would number them. But I only have patterns for the primaries, secondaries, and a few of the tertial feathers. No coverts.)

Oh, yes, I vaguely remember that and would love a boar headdress   Drop me an email sometime and we can chat more about it?   foxfeather@foxloft.com  - I'm going to be pretty swamped the next two weeks but will be available in March and will be working on some more raven masks then!

It was your masks at the MN Horse Fair years ago that first caught my eye.  That's amazing, and I'm sure they'll be gorgeous when complete.

Thank you so much!  I am very happy to be able to get back into maskmaking a bit, I'd like to work on a few other mask projects this year if I can.
