beautiful capture! I love the gold color and how it looks like there is liquid gold in the center of the icicles

Wow - thanks so much! Makes me so happy when people actually dig through and see some of my older stuff, especially the photography (which kinda gets lots in amongst my artwork I think)

this is incredible.. such clarity, and so much for the eye to take in. gorgeous colour really sets it off.

This is neat, but has its flaws (finally! ).
I really like the right part, the icicle has beautiful texture, but the left part (and the bottom) is overexposed by the ligh from the background and it just distracts terribly from the beautiful things going on on the icicle itself.
And oh man. I wish we had snow here. Its about friggin' time!

Very true what you said. But the one thing about setting up this whole shot, was the fact that to get the lovely golden color in the icicles, I had to position the rising sun like that. I tried numerous attempts, and none of them had that lovely 'frozen champagne' color like this one did. So, I was willing to make the sacrifice.

But you know what? The more I look at it, the more it evokes a feeling of Christmas in me. Not sure why, but it is a good thing.
So screw the background. It's alright.

This looks absolutely wonderful! I don't think I've ever seen fire inside of an icicle. You've done the impossible!
