Description
The PearlBlood are a sky dwelling race. Each offspring is born with a pair of wings, though it takes time to use them. These are the cousins of the mostly ground dwelling creatures: the Skahti, and the LockJaw Raptors.
The PearlBlood get their name from the density of their blood: a warm pearl-like milky substance that dries transparent but with a pearly finish. It is know that some ancient temples that have been noted, on the planet in which the PearlBlood live (Yentawah), to have the blood of these creatures as a royal wood finish. Though killing these creatures is a lot of effort, and Kings would usually lose their entire military fleets to these creatures. So it is a sign of great strength and fortune to have the blood of the PearlBlood at hand. Some often say that drinking the blood gives the drinker enhanced knowledge. Though the only known people who have drank the blood, crated unconceivable forms of transportation and taken off to never be seen again.
This particular PearlBlood is a small female. The only difference between the two sexes is the color of the visible body (usually males have a darker more greener color, and fuller feathered manes). Her large back feet are used for perching, and snatching pray while still in flight. Though they can be proven difficult when trying to land (as can be seen in the picture). They are not very good runners.
When reached a certain speed a PearlBlood can morph into a highbred. Their morphed appearance is determined by the power of their mind, body, and spirit. Most often their color turns into the glossy colorful white texture of their pearl-like blood.
This female’s name is Beju. She is a runt in a litter of five; three girls and two boys. Her family pack lives far from the Sky Castle (the PearlBlood royal dwelling- a large white floating castle located in the skies of Yentawah). She has been playing in the storms (a favorite past time of all three races: PearlBloods, Lockjaw Raptors, and Skahtis), and is at the moment of landing.
