Description It only took me 3 and a half years, but I've FINALLY made references for all my OCs, hooray!
Here's Amnis, the last of the bunch. I love my fish man. c:

About the trident: Amnis is practically never seen without his enchanted trident. The item is said to contain very powerful magic.
Personality: curious, mystery-loving, enduring, somewhat social (but rarely stays in one place to make friends for life)
Origin: Unknown, but after hearing some legends, Amnis believes he may be from Atlantis. Therefore, he travels around the world's oceans, trying to find it, or anything else that might hint at his childhood.
Anatomy details: (Please tell me if I did anything really weird, haha. I'm no biology expert, but I'd love to learn.)
His skin is a lot like shark skin, with rough, tiny, tooth-ish scales that allow him to swim quickly.
All spines on his body can move upright (like on the sheet), and can be laid flat against his body at will.
To swim, usually, he moves his body (especially his tail, which is very powerful) up and down. He does not have a preferred swimming speed. He is very agile.
Amnis' gills are divided into two parts: the largest part is very fine in structure and can filter out lots of oxygen from water, but a small part is very sturdy, doesn't filter that well, but works just as well out of the water.
Amnis' muscles are very strong, and even though he does have some bones (in his arms and legs, and part of his backbone), most of his skeleton consists of cartilage.
Amnis can survive on land for various days, but he does have some trouble breathing and a lot of trouble moving, so he only leaves the water when he feels he really needs to.

Ah, this is awesome! So he does swim a bit like a Zora (without taking the tail into account)? I really like this ref, it's shows things so well! I'm not an anatomy expert either but I think this is quite realistic the way you said everything works.

Yes, he does swim a bit like them. ^^
I considered making him swim more shark-like, but if he were to use his legs occasionally when swimming, vertical movement would make more sense, I thought.

And thank you so much!
That's the way I hoped the ref sheet would turn out to be. ^^
