I saw a few days ago that it's official and the Naruto fillers will be ending in early 2007. They are finally going back to the official manga story.If you aren't up on the fillers and manga to date a LOT of this will be over your head.
After I heard this I got the idea for this drawing. It started as just Naruto and Sakura, but quickly blew into the whole cast. I was going to include the adults, but thought that this was going to be long enough.
You know Tenten would be sad since the only time we have gotten to know her was through the fillers.

This takes me back... back when all I had to worry about was the times tables, basic division questions.... I miss being 11Β
Its true Poor Tenten never really got any development after those fillers. Sad really, The new Boruto generation has more development then her for crying out loud!Β

Same for choji, ino,kiba,shino, and so on they completely forgot about the side characters

But Shino, what will you do if I bring it up? :3 For real though, most of the filler was good. Not all of it was worth rewatching, but some of it was.

The fillers just stretched on for way longer than they had any right to.

Yeah, they did seem to pop up at the most inopportune times, and go on long enough that when the real stuff came back, you had to go rewatch some stuff to remember what exactly was happening.

I'll be honest, I actually liked a good bit of the filler. Had cool jutsu in some of them and some awsome characters.

Kishimoto actually stated in an interview Tenten was made solely to fill the mandatory girl spot for the 2 boys 1 girl ratio he created for all the teams. She was literally created simply to be a background character.

I gave up before it reached the ending. I stopped after Naruto spent an entire issue trying to figure out the gender of a giant turtle while a war is going on around him.

That's a pretty huge rage quit over something pretty minor, also where exactly was this "giant turtle gender" scene?

I didn't rage quit over just the turtle scene. The manga had been going down hill for a while and had a few other moments that made me really consider giving up on it. Like Naruto having a full on anxiety attack when he hear Sasuke's evil dead's means he's now wanted dead by the world ninja council, or thinking he can bring Sasuke back to the good side even after Sasuke flat out say's he wants to burn the leaf village to the ground..
The turtle thing was that there was an issue in the manga where Naruto spends the entire issue trying to figure out the gender of a giant torture. Despite the fact there is a basically a giant war on the horrizon. It just felt like the author had run out of idea's.

I'm astonished that through the entire series Kishimoto is jack with her character. She had more development in the anime fillers than in the actual manga.
