I was watching "Naruto" ep.197 and this episode replaced the usual opening with clips from the "Naruto Movie 3". I saw the scene where Sakura throws the shuriken. It looks cool and dramatic. It's so rare that we get to see Sakura kicking butt.I wanted to be sure I didn't make her body look too mature since she's a young teen. Notice the 'slightly' larger forehead.
I put all the background lines at a slight curve to give more of a feeling of movement. My french curve wasn't long enough so I had to draw those freehand for the most part.
One of my favorite touches is the motion blur on the shuriken.
I hope you all enjoy and I want to hear your comments. Please be a lil' kind. It's my first time drawing Sakura.

Wait...Sakura kicks butt? In Shippuuden and the movies, yes, but in the series, she's pretty much just a wimp.

Shippuuden is the series. After the time skip is becomes a great fighter and she has a huge fight coming up.

I've only seen glimpses on this movie in that Naruto opening and the trailer. I want to see this one as well. Looks pretty cool.

I didn't design the outfit. It's just how she looks in the third movie. Everyone in this movie is wearing a more summer outfit.

Thanks. I knew to make this picture work out I needed to sell the movement of the shuriken. It was alittle complicated, but turned out well.

its a fantastic pic, but you could have made the face a little bit more flattering, or determined. Mabye with her eyes open and her eyebrows slanted. anyway, great job!

Yes it is rare to see Sakura actually kick butt.But it's only cuz Tsunade helped her.Anyway,this is really good for the first time drawing her.When I first drew her,it probably looked terrible.But this is really good!^_^
