I'm still in kind of a mood this week. Got to say it sure is making me productive. More time I'm working the less I am thinking about other matters.On a separate matter. I kind of rushed this picture though. I was concerned that if Code Geass end sucks I would lose the mood to even make this picture and the idea was just too good to pass up.
As I said in my journal I talked about how I'm not watching the last three episodes of Code Geass. Not until the series ends and I will watch them all together.
To give me something else to watch I tried watching the anime Strike Witches. It's pretty good. It's kind of a loli fan service series, but all the little details they put in of WWII history makes up for that.
I was watching the series and I got the inspiration for this image. It all kind of fell together. This is sort of a what if image. Mixing Strike Witches and Code Geass.
In Strike Witches there is a country called Britannia, like with Code Geass; one girl has a magical glowing eye, the girls are witches, C.C. is considered a witch; and Kallen's VA(Voice Acctress) does the voice of one of the girls in Strike Witches.
Oddly enough the details that took up the most time was coloring in those Strike Units (Strike Witches flight gear, brooms) the girls wear on their legs. Not to mention designing them to be similar to the KMFs (Knightmare Frames. Code Geass mechs).
You may as that if I haven't see the most recent episodes how do I know that C.C. has a pink Lancelot and that shield. Answer, I checked the Code Geass official website for those details.
I almost had this image revered with Kallen upright and the sea at the top of the image. It just felt more dynamic to have Kallen upside down.
You have no idea how close I cam to adding a Luluko (Code Geass joke) to this image. I didn't want the picture crowded.

I also researched that Nunnally's VA as well as Nina's VA had also roles in Strike Witches.
The problem with many people who dislike Strike Witches is that they never appreciate cheesiness and happiness. Curse to them if they remain that way.
BTW, I've only seen CG, not SW.

When you compare Code Geass and Strike Witches, it's like comparing smart television writing to quick cash in.
Don't get me wrong. I understand some of the appeal to Strike Witches, but Code Geass just blows it out of the water.

It's very well drawn. It makes good use of the coloring while properly referencing both works accurately.

Have to say, that SW sucks (lolicon), but idea was good and your idea is even better.

I thought it was cute and funny. I really liked the touches from WWII history.
I couldn't stomach that the end had that picture with Gino.

As the historian, I like the idea, but I have allergy for lolicon.
Well, Gino was natural for Kallen and I'm happy that they pair them at the end. I wanted to see Orange and Sayako together, sadly, they give him Anya to work with him at the orange farm (it was great, byt the way to see Jeremiah working with oranges).

He wasn't natural! He's an empty character who never influenced a damn thing in the plot. Kallen spent her whole season falling in love with Lelouch.
How the hell could they try and bring her closer to such an empty flop in the last 4?

Don't know if I'll ever see Strike Witches, though I used to read a lot of WWII books back in the day so some trivia would always be a nice distraction, but I don't mind seeing this.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this last R2 episode, nothing else to do about it...

It's mostly their expressions which made me reach that conclusion, since you can't really tell anything else due to lack of dialog.

I would recommend the series. It's just something fun to watch and kill time. It's even more recommended if you enjoy WWII history.
