I bet 'present' Twilight is driven to watch TVs because 'future' Twi took all her books.
The meaningless shows on TV caused her to descend into insanity which resulted in herself becoming 'future' Twi!!!

I was expecting another panel (or maybe several) where somepony comes in looking for a book to borrow, but seeing there are none, decides to just watch TV instead.

Crazy Twilight comes in from the future and steals Twilight's books...thus causing Twilight to go nuts with boredom and eventually become Crazy Twilight.

Well it's sort of the same paradox as in It's about Time. Twilight got to her past self and stole her books thus present Twi becomes crazy Twi out of boredom and goes crazy stealing all her books from herself. But something had to happen to trigger one Twi to go steal her own books. There had to be some beginning, because Twi couldn't go crazy without one crazy Twi already in existence to come and steal her books...
And the moral of the story is:
Too much Dr. Who + Brony tendency to over analyze + time travel is not a good combination.
