Description
And this is what I've been working on the past couple of weeks, I'm excited to have them finished. I used Beetlecat's fox ear tutorial ([link] ) to make the fox ears, and modified it a little for the cat ears. I used the hard felt to make the base of the ears, and the elastic is jewelry bead elastic, which I hot glue gunned into the ears. The part I'm happiest with is the pink in the cat ears. All I had was fluffy white fabric, no pink whatsoever. So, at first I dyed the insides of the ears with a Prismacolor pink marker. However, when I left the right sides together to sew them, the pink had dyed the white part as well. >.< So, I made the best of the situation. I washed the two pieces together in soap and water, rubbing them against each other so that the pink would dye the white a lighter pink. Then, I heat set it using the low setting on my hair dryer. The result was a fabulous shade of pink that is, as far as I know, pretty colorfast. X3
The part I'm least proud of is the trimming on the cat ears. I did my best, but I couldn't get the inside as short as I wanted. I wish I had a dog hair trimmer, that would've helped a lot.
As for the fox ears, they sit very oddly on my head, but otherwise I like how they look.

This is so amazing. I like what you did when you explained about the pink cat ears. Very creative solution to the problem!
Are we going to see a picture of you wearing the ears?

Thank you! I got the original idea of using marker to dye fur from a fursuit community. Once I learned that heat-setting helps dry the color into it, that's when I got that inspiration. X3
And yes, I do. In fact, I think I'll post it here eventually. XD

Actually, the fox ears are /very/ simple to make. And believe me, I KNOW how difficult it is to work with fur sometimes. What made the process so simple was that I just hand sewed them together rather than use a sewing machine, most of the difficulty in working with fur is with the sewing machine. XD That, and Beetlecat's tutorial makes it SO simple, that was really a godsend to me. XD
But thanks, I'm glad you like them. X3
