"Silver Rings" was created in Apophysis 7x.15.
There are twenty rings. I'm told that some people don't see the rings. Don't worry. Just enjoy the art!
I tried to make the crackle (lace effect) in this fractal appear three-dimensional.

Thanks, Leonie! I like following it with my eyes. Very relaxing! (Maybe I'm hypnotizing myself! )

I'm so pleased to have a comment from you! I appreciate what you say about the colour. I worked on this over the course of many weeks, and at one point I thought the colour might be a bit strong. I think the neutral rings and framing balance it out, though. Your comment means a lot to me! Thank you, Cameron!

I am still amazed at your ability to make fractals from scratch. I can't, because every-time I try, something weird happens.

Lots of weird stuff happened with this fractal too, believe me! I had made many, many versions of it before I finally decided this one was good enough to post. My "secret" (if there is one) may be my bull-headedness. I rarely give up. I just keep trying this and that until something looks good. I also don't set out to make anything specific. I think fractals are like untamed animals. They can be very beautiful, but they will do what they want. If I were to decide ahead of time what I wanted my fractal to look like, my chances of getting there would be quite low, I think. Tell me, what kinds of weird things happen to you, Cameron?

Everytime I put in a new variation, the blank flame becomes literally BLANK. It had a square for one second, then BAM! It's gone. I just don't know how to make shapes or solid figures at all, which is why I must use my old flames to make new ones.

I also noticed that the brightness is set so low when I start a blank flame that I can hardly see it. When I raise the brightness and increase the size (scale) of the image, it starts to look like a fractal. Changing linear 3D to 0 is probably the most important thing. Let me know if you get this working better, okay?

I'll practice a bit. The next fractal I upload will be by scratch

I just tried it, and I think I see what you mean. Do you set linear 3D to 0 before you add the new variation? That should help avoid the blank screen. It may be hard to make a fractal with just one transform too. Do you add a second transform? I'm just learning how to do this myself. If I'm telling you things you already know (or things that are incorrect), forgive me.

Oh, now I see. I always put Linear 3D = 1 on every transform

I do! I also love so many of your pieces.. I have got to get rid of all the group adds that I have so I can do my own wandering again..LOL. I will be done soon.

Thank you! The wandering will be fun! I want to start looking at the newest art and photography "by anyone" again, on the dA front page. It's a good way to discover new artists and see some amazing things! I'm also going to keep watching what my friends and group-mates make, of course. They and their art are very special to me!
