But you don't have to know the math in order to play around with a fractal software Fractal software has even been used as therapy
See heading three in the recycled info below:
First: Check out the zoom sequences (only images) from page 4 in the pdf's [link] and [link] . The end motives are my deviations [link] and [link]
Second: In my journal [link] you have some links to short cool fractal animations I stumbled over at YouTube
Third: If you wanna try some free simple fractal software, go to my journal [link]
Fourth: Wikipedia has a nice site [link]
Fifth: Maybe you would appreciate my "Chaotic series of fractal articles" [link] if you have a little theoretical interest
Hope you don't feel spammed

..and yet most of my fractals are completely raw, that's without filters or post processing Thank you

FractalMonster In reply to Xtdoyx [2010-12-06 16:30:31 +0000 UTC]
That's on of the reasons why I felt I would post this motive in two color variants Thank you
BTW, what do you like [link] ?
π: 0 β©: 1
Xtdoyx In reply to FractalMonster [2010-12-07 02:30:47 +0000 UTC]
I probably over-analyse things a bit, but for me the colours have to work together and the picture has to have some sort of composition
That one you just linked is a good example, because purple, blue and black all work together (not that black doesn't work with anything) but there's also a compositional side to it, with the black and detailed parts balanced out by the larger, flowing lines.
But that's just the way I think, a lot of your fractals are awesome, it's just the colours that could do with tweaking for me.
π: 0 β©: 1
FractalMonster In reply to Xtdoyx [2010-12-07 02:51:49 +0000 UTC]
Completely agree, all must work together. The compositional side is the math responible for (if it is a raw puristic fractals, almost all of mine are ). The colors are the tricky thing. Regarding "Flames Not Giving Up" the color where given by the theme (Spirit Day). The whole motive was a quick fix wit ha slight in-zom at the nec of the m set. Regarding colors, "black" for me is mostly reserved for the inside of the fractals set. But that's due to being a fractal purist, see my journal [link]
Thanks you SO much for taking time to share your opinions
π: 0 β©: 1
Xtdoyx In reply to FractalMonster [2010-12-07 04:20:54 +0000 UTC]
Haha I don't mind sharing opinions at all, I'm just procrastinating from doing my last assignment for the year really. *slack*
But yes, the black is definitely best placed on the inside of them, as it draws yours eyes to it straight away and to the rest of the picture and the intricacy from there.

FractalMonster In reply to Xtdoyx [2010-12-07 05:04:37 +0000 UTC]
Wish you a god luck
Apparently the pedagogical and aesthetic reasons where to "put" the black coalesces Isn't math an almost outstanding artist
