What a jewel! The composition is grand, and I love the bold textures and colours. Great lighting too.

Thanks so much! It was one of my first trials with modulated iterations for coloring, using different textures and colors for different arms on the spirals, a technique from Janet Parke's masking class..

I tend to go for the bold colors a lot... just one of my signatures....
Thanks again!!

Thank you for describing the technique! I intend to attend Janet Parke's classes soon.

I really like the colors and textures that you've used in this fractal. It makes me think of canvas or denim-style fabrics.

Jenn,
Thanks!
I went for the hard edges on the upper left and decided to soften it up on the spiral- I was looking at it again last night, thinking I could use more masks to put a hard edge and some definition and shadows to it. Haha- projects are never "Done"... haha. For my masking class, I took Fleurs de Marais [link]
and masked each of the main flowers off separately to make them rather unique instead of all the same
I also cleaned up the stalks and the nasty blob in the sky which caught my eye the other day... again using masks (toning it down ended up taking away from the stalks... and I also added more 3D texture to the blades...... Learning is fun!
Sorry I missed out on the UF round robin- I'd like to be involved in another one, should there be one
Thanks again
Paul

You really applied what you learned here! The round robins were fun, and Deb will probably be having one again soon. I think everyone needed a little break.
