Description Honestly, anyone who says that free speech needs limits is fucking stupid, why? Because that would cause problems for us, take for example in the United Kingdom that you can get arrested for having a shirt with profanities on it, the UK isn't a good example of that, the US has okay freedom of speech and fucking Germany needs to allow people to distribute shit with swastikas, for fuck's sake, it's a religious symbol, a buddhist symbol!

What's I'm saying is that freedom of speech shouldn't be countered at all and should be fucking unlimited, no limits, none, zero, zilch.

Actually, the Swastikas both came from Buddhism, the opposite direction one was a negative symbol and the one Hitler used was a positive one. If you studied history you would also know that antisemitism back then was not an uncommon thing, it existed here, and pretty much everywhere and in large numbers. He should of been allowed to say whatever he fucking wanted and it shouldn't of made a Goddamned difference. You have these rights whether the government recognizes them or not. When you start limiting rights, you slowly need to take more, Freedom of speech is not one you should limit, because THAT is where these things come from. Fascist countries like Nazi Germany limited Freedom of speech, as well, when you start giving government the idea that it is okay to limit right's they take more to further their agenda. This is not paranoia, it is history. It happened here, several times, it happened in Italy, Spain, Germany, the CCCP, North Korea, Great Britain and the list goes on. History is a mirror in which we can see our fate before it happens, and it helps us modify how it looks by looking at it and seeing what's wrong.

Your opinion is your opinion, I'm not really that concerned, but the way Hitler used it turned it into a negative sign. And no, I don't agree with you in terms of the fact that the Hitler one was positive and the Buddhist one is negative.

But then again, you don't have to agree with me and I wouldn't care if you don't since you're right, you're allowed to have your own opinions and your interpretations of history. *shrugs*

Good day, my friend.

true true, but I'm pretty sure that it was a symbol related to prosperity or something. The nazi swastika took the positive symbol and turned it into a negative because of what they did, kinda like an inverted cross.

though their swastika was reverse from all of the religious ones/originals, which theoretically make them opposite from the traditional swastikas. I find it weird that theirs is like that, instead of using the correct direction of swastikas found in most eastern religions, but I'm not very educated in this topic, so.

And thank you

So you support the right to scream "Fire!" in a theater? Do you support the right for me to accuse you of horrible crimes without evidence as a means to publicly humiliate you and ruin job opportunities for you?

That is a case of infringing upon someone else rights to life and lively-hood. You have the right to speech, not the right to infringe upon other's rights, and that is where the limit is, actually not even a limit, it's just a border.

You don't seem to have a clear understanding of how the world works. you're what, 15-17, I'd presume?

Hopefully you mature just a bit more, for your own sake.

You bring up Germany, the reason that Germany has a ban on swastikas is because they are afraid that seeing those things again will stir up increased national pride, and they are terified of what happens when the nation gets to proud of itself.

The swastika will not be allowed in Germany for as long as the Nazi's persist in living memory

Yeah, and I don't see why it should be banned, it's been like, how long, 60 years?

Actually, in the UK you can't wear an item that may cause a breach of the peace (racist remarks for example), rather than swear words. Swear word not directed at anyone in particular are usually fine so long as you're not, say, in a children's play centre

Free speech with limits isn't free speech at all.

If this would be possible in a respectful way, I'd agree.
But there isn't only the freedom of speech, but also the dignity of man.
It is so easy to destroy someones life using slander ...

btw, it is allowed to use the swastika symbols for religious reasons in Germany.

I'm sorry I prefer is someone doesn't cuss at my young child.
If we had full freedom of speech they could do that but since there are limits I can call the cops on him/her.

Yes .
In class, I was about to call bullshit on this ghetto slut but then our teacher said "If you don't got something nice to say, don't say anything at all!"

.. Ugh, even teachers support asspatting? WHY. But thank god there's a awesome and sane teacher in my school who despises most students for their unacceptable behavior, ruin their dreams, and say "Your opinion means nothing! No one cares if you got 'swag'. The society just cares if you have money to spend and recieve!" Too bad he's a substitute teacher though.

I believe anyone, even at work or school, should be able to voice out their opinion (positive or negative). I mean, it won't kill someone just for having a negative opinion, right? Even the teachers, I bet, hate most of their students since they're sagging arrogant boys and duck-faced sluts. I'd rather hang out with emos/scenes/wolfaboos/weeaboos rather than the loud and obnoxious sagging asshats and thick-lipped bitches. At least they're rather quiet and more understanding than the other students.

Even I'm curious of other schools. I wonder if they're just as bad as mine..? My school supposedly supports asspats.. and yet the fucking horrible truth is so obvious, it's on their attitude and clothing.

Your talking about African Americans right? Because if so Hopefully you don’t think all of us is like that. If you do, then that would be generalization. Oh well

shiney4ever

To add to that you can't slander someone either or use hate speech to promote killing people. It is very hard prove, but if proven you can be up for a lawsuit or worse.

I believe in freedom of speech. I don't think it should be limited as far as vulgarness goes, but there is something things that you shouldn't be allowed to do. That includes slander. Slander can ruin someone's life and that isn't right. And you shouldn't use hate speech so far that it promotes the killing of people either. Because people have the potential of killing someone after hearing hate speech. Yes they are dumb, but I consider the person responsible for spreading hate just a guilty.

Depending on where you live I guess, freedom of speech has its limits already. Even the US draws a line somewhere where freedom of speech is concerned. For example, you can't speak against the government or the army during times of war or other times when the state of the country is very delicate, for it could start even more chaos. Other times you are free to do so as you please.
