Honestly.... i agree so much. As someone who was exposed to some really messed up stuff at a young age because of the internet, this should be a mandatory rule for EVERYTHING on there.
A child does not belong online, and allowing them there can impact their growing minds and social behavior negatively. I know it fucked me up. It really threw out my boundaries for whatβs appropriate or not. And to be honest, i feel really bad for the kids who had to grow up on xbox live or instagram because their parents couldnβt give a shit. i wasnt even on social media until 10-11 (which even then it was just deviantart) and it still messed me up.Β

Parents should find out what their kid does on the internet (for example by looking their search history), and ground them for going in YouTube and other sites, which aren't kid-friendly.
Disney has its own sites. Also do Nickelodeon, Mattel, Hasbro and many other kids' brands.

But I do think kids should be allowed online though. What about sites like Neopets and Disney and those toy related youtube channels? I got my own laptop in the 3rd grade. and man... I had a blast! I was a pretty smart kid so I knew I wasn't allowed on chatting sites or talking to strangers and stuff and not to go looking for stuff that'll scar me for life. It also helps that my dad made me use this just for kids web browser... Kidzui I think it was?
Also about all this stuff about cringe, we all started somewhere. you were cringe, I was cringe, we were all just kids. If you were like, 12 and started posting here (like me) and people started calling you cancerous and crap, how would you feel, honestly?

I've been on the internet since I was around--okay, I can't remember, I was probably 4 to 6, but I do remember joining YouTube at age 7.
I was cringy all the way through, especially when I first joined here.
I was 11 or something when I first joined, and just a few days short of my 13th birthday someone finally caught me and tossed my ass right out of DA. Things got figured out and I returnedΒ afterΒ I became 13, but...let's just say this - lesson learned.

*sigh* I had a YouTube account when I was...10. Yes. And I was a bit immature. My parents found out and they closed my youtube account. I whined about it. But then got over it.
Then at the age of 12 I had an instagram account. I was less immature but still not mature enough. I saw some NSFW and I screamed at the uploaded of the NSFW and told that Insta was not a place for it. My mom got enraged with me and closed my account. I whined about it but she did not care.Β
I am 14 now. And I am mature now. My parents know that I have a Deviantart and Amino but don't check it.Β
