Honestly, anyone who says that free speech needs limits is fucking stupid, why? Because that would cause problems for us, take for example in the United Kingdom that you can get arrested for having a shirt with profanities on it, the UK isn't a good example of that, the US has okay freedom of speech and fucking Germany needs to allow people to distribute shit with swastikas, for fuck's sake, it's a religious symbol, a buddhist symbol!What's I'm saying is that freedom of speech shouldn't be countered at all and should be fucking unlimited, no limits, none, zero, zilch.

I do agree with that, but you have to keep in mind that freedom of speech does NOT mean freedom from consequences.
Freedom of speech also does not give you an excuse to be an asshole or to be intolerant (if your religious).
Frankly, freedom of speech is a privilege we're lucky to have. I know it's supposed to be a fundimental human right, and it
is, but there are a lot of people who so flippantly abuse freedom of speech, who don't know how lucky they are to be able
to abuse freedom of speech, period. There are many places in the world that don't have freedom of speech, places where
you can be arrested or even executed for saying the wrong thing, so be thankful we live in a place where freedom of speech
exists.

I used to believe wholeheartedly in free speech, and still do for the most part. I've come to realise that free speech is about speaking up against wrongs and being able to say almost whatever you want withoutΒ persecution.
I think that people are limiting the wrong areas of free speech.Β GenuineΒ criticism should never be censored the way it is at the moment.
However truly harmful things like terrorist recruiting ads orΒ racist things that incite actual violence do need to be limited.

There's a problem with that, if you don't limit freedoms, you're destroying everyting that freedom stands for. It's a dichotomy, yin and yang, good and evil. True freedom cannot exist without limitations.

The Buddhist symbol is in the opposite direction of the Nazi swastika- and maybe you think that the freedom of speech should not have limits, but as you all know, it was the freedom of speech that got Hitler this much power back in the 1930's. He used his oratorical skills to turn people into Jewish slaughters, playing on the people's emotions of hopelessness. Nothing but a demagogue.
