Description
The ship is made of cardboard, paper, string and lots and lots of glue. There are also very small amounts of plaster, for little lanterns and a "statue" by the stairs. The ship is approx. 11 cm / 4Β½ inches high (highest point).I made the ship some years ago, inspired by the three Monkey Island games (available at the time), specifically The Curse of the Monkey Island.
Underneath the ship, merely for background purposes, is a drawn, slightly modified (I left out the LucasArts logo and replaced it with a sea creature) reproduction of the Monkey Island map for the Caribbean seas.

I especially most certainly completely adore this.
I love the feel of this piece; I've seen other things that evoke the same kinda feeling, but they're rare. (Some sort of fantastical/adventurous/fun/whimsical mix... I'm trying to focus on it, myself.)

The map... I drew it, but I didn't plan or design it: it is a blatant copy of a map made for The Curse of Monkey Island's user manual. I found a good copy of it online, used that as reference, drew a funny fish instead of the LucasArts logo and spilled tea all over it

I don't get exactly what it is, though, it looks like a painting; but, is it a miniature ship and you added the background digitally?
It's awesome, but the pic is a little low quality, maybe you could submit it with a bigger resolution.

It's a photo of my little pirate ship, nothing is digitally added or enhanced: the ship was resting on top of a framed MI map, when I took the picture, and yeah, it came out a little blurry
