You got keys?

... legally? I wanted to take pictures of the concourse but they said I couldn't.

Yes I'm secretary on the Board of Directors of the Central Terminal Restoration Corporation. I don't like seeing your pictures btw Mail building and REA we care less about, but our basement? And showing yourselves go up the stairs? Not cool. Especially in this public of a place...but whatever.

It wasn't a great thing to do and I can see how it was inappropriate... for fear of vandalism and people breaking things or disrespecting the place more so than it seems the previous owners who didn't upkeep the place did. I'm actually very respectful of the CTRC because I would love to see this place shine again. It's such a monolithic beauty. It's understandable why you would want people kept out of it, so that it can be rebuilt rather than destroyed. (Like going up an escalator the wrong way, no progress)

I apologize first off for my rude entrancing and will make it clear to others that if people want pictures, they should ask for an appointment, which is what I ask of you now. Would if be at all possible to get some main hall pictures with a chaperone of sorts?

Also, can you tell me about the different buildings? I always assumed they were all part of the same group.

Even tho we're chatting right now haha...

The main building is the concourse and tower. The train platforms on the other side of the tracks are owned by Amtrak. It was separated from the building in the early 80s to make room for taller trains. The 4 story building attached to the main building, along Curtiss St, was the baggage building. The 2 story next to that, the mail building. As I said, down the street was Railway Express Agency, the UPS of the day I guess haha. Our property used to have a powerplant and ice house that were demolished 30 or 40 years ago because the taxes were too high. The CTRC currently owns the tower, concourse, and baggage building and we're trying to purchase the mail building. Right now, it's still owned by the City, so game on! haha

looking straight at the big tower and concourse, there's a ton of broken windows in a ... 5 story section of building, to the right of the concourse (or behind it technically)

Is that off limits? I was behind those, near the tracks, but didn't go in them.

That's the baggage building, only 4 stories. Off limits. Anything that touches the concourse and is fenced is owned by us. And we've made it so you can't get in the building even if behind the fence. We rs creatives. hahaha
