"'Ole LukΓΈje' is a literary fairy tale by Hans Christian Andersen based upon a folk tale telling of a mysterious mythic creature of the Sandman who gently takes children to sleep and, depending on how good or bad they were, shows them various dreams.Under each arm he carries an umbrella; one of them, with pictures on the inside, he spreads over the good children, and then they dream the most beautiful stories the whole night. But the other umbrella has no pictures, and this he holds over the naughty children so that they sleep heavily, and wake in the morning without having dreamed at all." -Wikipedia
I couldn't resist including another of Andersen's tales in the umbrella. Andersen's stories are some of my favorites; it's a pleasure to imagine what they'd be like in images.

Simply fantastic. I love the color choice you made! And the little boy is pretty much the coolest. I mean, he's hugging a dinosaur. Life doesn't get better than dino-hugging times!

Awwww! The Steadfast Tin Soldier! <3 I love how creative and intricate this is! You did such a lovely job. The little dinosaur plushy that the little boy is cuddling is a cute addition.

And yeah, the Tin Soldier has long been one of my favorite Andersen tales. Doesn't hurt that I think Disney did a great job of bringing it to life, too. >>

Totally! Fantasia 2000 for the win! Although the original is my favorite. Probably because I'm super into Greek Mythology lol. I'm such a Disney kid as it is anyway.

I liked 2000 better because it also had Rhapsody in Blue... I'm a huge Gershwin fan. xD Disney does great stuff though. I wish they'd make another Fantasia, there's so much good music out there!

Agreed! I love Rhapsody in Blue. I have that song on my computer hehe. They should make a new Fantasia, but it took them what? 10, 15, 20 something years to make the 2nd one after the first? I'm not gonna hold my breath for a 3rd because I choose life lol.

Absolutely adorable. I love Hans Christian Andersen's fairytales, and this is a nice visualisation of the Sandman. Great attention to lighting, and the composition of this piece is quite nice as well. Your style is so adorably fit for fairytale illustrations; I could definitely see this in a book.
