I saw one of these after church one day. It was about a week or so before Thanksgiving and I squatted down by my mom's fusion to get a better look at it and one of the older men saw me and when he saw it, he told me if you see a wooly worm it means the winter will be rough. I guess he was right! It's not been snowing very much here in Tennessee but the temperature's been so bad we've had schools close because of ice on the roadsΒ and broken pipes in the buildings. Not to mention the deaths from the flu so far.

Really. Really? We have all sorts of butterflies and moths, Western Tiger Swallowtail and Monarch predominantly... I just don't see the woollies very often, and they're so cute and fuzzy. The fuzziness gets me every time!

Hey, I missed that one! I absolutely love it, not just it, itself, but awesome shot!
Guess it wasn't too hard trying to get it to stay still.

Haha actually it was really hard to get it to stay still, in fact, it was moving when I took this photo I had to move my camera with it to take the photo.... I turned down the exposure so I could get a faster shutter speed, and edited it back to normal in PP9

Squirrelly little devil!
Well, sounds like he may have actually been trying to get away from you...
Well, he had you working a lot harder than I guess I ever would have imagined, so double the kudos there, because it is honestly an awesome shot!

Something an adult said to me when I was young has made me positive I will die if I touch one of these, so they terrify me. (I should probably read up and forget what they said XD)

Yeah don't worry, you can touch these as much as you want, I held it in my hands and I'm perfectly okay! Plus, if you couldn't touch them, I'd be screwed because they're pretty common around here

Awwww! I love hairy caterpillars and this one is adorable fuzzy!
ItΒ΄s a beautiful capture; though I think it would be even more cute, if the focus would be on the head. Just in case you want some critisism.
