More photography goodies: Framed By Nature .NETRecently took a hike through Fontenelle Forest with *kinginacage to try out my infrared filter. Absolutely loving it so far! Post-processing false colors can be a little tricky to get it to look how you want, but I'm gradually getting better at it

oh my! haha when i first looked at it i thought they were cherry blossoms. haha although i dont think trees in this time of year produce blossoms, espessialy to that extent

That's really awesome. For some reason, it looks soft and fragile, kind of like hoarfrost. Weird how a change in color can give the impression of a different consistency.
What I wonder is... what does it look like when you shoot a person with an IR filter?

I really like the pink but the sky kinda looks like a green screen. It's like watching a behind the scenes of a movie. The world you saw in the movie becomes nothing more than just a sheet of green fabric. So it kind of takes away from the magic in a way.

Yeah it's that patch in the upper right that bothers me. If it wasn't so dark, it wouldn't be so noticeable. May try switching the channels around to make it blue

Foliage reflects infrared light more than trees/the ground, so it ended up lighter

To walk into this forest would be amazing. How I feel when I look at this photo is all my troubles would be over if I were to walk this trail. I don't think I would ever want to leave. In a word, brilliant!

I really like it. I hope you don't mind, but I would like it better without the green. I don't know if you can do anything about it because I don't know anything about infrared imaging, but... Even with it, though, I like the coloring and the surreal feel to it. It's an all around good picture.

IR shots require a crapload of editing regardless. Technically this was less editing than most shots, since I only switched one channel instead of two. Unprocessed IR images are basically just completely red.

Wow, this is so pretty. My initial thought was 'Oooooo, cherry blossoms!! ^_^' I love cherry blossoms.
