Description Space Invader mosaic tile by Invader on Pilgrim Street in Newcastle upon Tyne (situated near the Tyneside Cinema). Newcastle has a very rich selection of Art, Art Galleries and Architecture – but this is one of my favorites, I love the fact that Invader’s colorful street art is accessible to everybody.

Invader is a French Urban Artist who pastes up characters from the Space Invaders game, made up from small colored tiles forming a mosaic. He started the project in 1998 with the invasion of Paris, then spread out across 31 other French cities.

Other cities around the world which have been Invaded include: London, Cologne, Geneva, Rome, Berlin, Barcelona, Bonn, Vienna, Amsterdam, Manchester, Los Angles, New York, Bangkok, Tokyo, Katmandu, Melbourne, Perth and Mombasa.

Invader was one of the featured artists in the film Exit Through The Gift Shop (Banksy, 2010), you can find out more about the locations of his Space Invaders around the world and his other projects here [link]

Thanks dude! Yeah, he's a French artist so I think the majority of his work is up around French cities.
