Space Invader mosaic tile by Invader on Pilgrim Street in Newcastle upon Tyne (situated near the Tyneside Cinema). Newcastle has a very rich selection of Art, Art Galleries and Architecture – but this is one of my favorites, I love the fact that Invader’s colorful street art is accessible to everybody.

Invader is a French Urban Artist who pastes up characters from the Space Invaders game, made up from small colored tiles forming a mosaic. He started the project in 1998 with the invasion of Paris, then spread out across 31 other French cities.

Other cities around the world which have been Invaded include: London, Cologne, Geneva, Rome, Berlin, Barcelona, Bonn, Vienna, Amsterdam, Manchester, Los Angles, New York, Bangkok, Tokyo, Katmandu, Melbourne, Perth and Mombasa.
