Description
As a huge fan (though not a believer) of the mighty BigFoot, I've always been intrigued by eye-witness stories that are accompanied by detailed descriptions or photographic evidence. Here are some of the more famous BigFeet that appear in most books and google searches, depicted as biological creatures, based on the descriptions (and film). Left to right are: Sycamore Flat campground sighting of 1973 by two teens in the back of a '53 Chevy pickup, the Fouke Monster as described by James Lynn Crabtree in 1971 (allegedly based on his 1965 sighting), Roger Patterson's famous movie film subject from 1967, and an adult male mountain gorilla for scale. The Sycamore Flat creature is based on the cardboard cutout seen in the famous photo of the two eye-witnesses and driver of the truck. Interestingly, it and the Fouke Monster had 3 toes, not 5 based on the footprints cast at the site. Perhaps not coincidentally, three toes were a common theme of footprint finds in the 1970's after release of the exploitation film "Bigfoot" in 1970. In that film, three toed tracks are shown as belonging to a large, male BigFoot that wants to mate with human women. This is my last art piece of 2016. Thanks for looking!Related content

I will have to send you a note and tell you about my experience, cause it would fill up too much in a comment block.

12 feet might be a bit on the large size....
But I can definitely imagine them getting to 8 or 9 feet.

This is something I just want to say, and it isn't at you, it's to other people. It's usually hard to argue with skeptics over unknown creatures, I tried it but they have to give their explanation on why it's illogical that these creatures exist and it's all confirmation bias and all this other lame excuses they give. Besides I imagine those skeptics have confirmation bias themselves. Since that simply means "seeing what they want to see, or believe what they want to believe", those skeptics just don't bother and expect that creature to not exist, and that's how they see it as. Though saying that to them may hurt their feelings.

Heh! The same works in reverse. One good video, DNA sample, and/or actual specimen and thereβs no more doubt. No more arguing. But sadly, one of those ever come for Bigfoot or other βcryptids.β I sincerely wish they exist. But Iβve seen zero actual scientific evidence for them. Still, I dig the stories.

Great lineup of various creatures described to scale! It is a useful comparison & a great reminder that people are not just seeing the same sort of thing. Would like to see your version of the four types as presented on Sasquatch Central.Β

I do believe that is my cue to send a link. Sasquatch Central is a podcast of some standing, with a lot of info & witness interviews pertaining to Uncle Hairy and friends.

I am. Whole lot of rambling and not much actual data. I think Bill was looking to make bank on the current BigFoot fad. Sad really.

If you live in the U.S. or Cananda I'd recommend attending a BFRO expedition. If nothing else, they're a fun adventure, and though to some the fee might seem steep, think about how much money one spends on the average vacation anyway; not a bad venture, really, for a camping trip in a beautiful area with nice people. The possibility of having your own encounter is just a bonus, but it's an educational experience in one way or another. Skeptics join BFRO expeditions all the time. They're not restricted to "believers".

They're a scam. I camp on my own for many weeks each year though.

12 feet seems excessive. More likely exaggeration if anything.

Hey, if you're going to have a 3-toed, rock-throwing manape running around the foothills of the Mohave desert, 12' is as good as 6.

I didn't notice the three toes. Huh. Most likely some drugs involved.

Could be. But they cast lots of tracks. All 3 toed. The '70s were weird.

Bigfoot is like Elvis - if it really was alive, it'd be gone by now anyway!
Who's the man? He reminds me of Woody Allen
Cool drawing!

Thanks! The man is Willie Roemermann in 1973. He was driving the truck from which the two others saw the 11-12' tall giant at Sycamore Flats.
