Description
Comparative scales of the original Gojira, the Tristar Zilla (GINO) and the soon to be released Legendary Gojira. The scales the original Gojira and Zilla seem to change in their respective movies, so it's hard to get an accurate read on them. But this is as close as I can get for now. Of the three, Zilla is constructed most like a theropod dinosaur (despite being a mutant iguana), but for its size, there's no way it could actually work mechanically. The other two are at least designed like a super-giant biped, with colunar legs, heavy hips, and vertical spines. Then again, they breathe nuclear beams, defy biological principles, and exceed the dimensions of any land vertebrate ever. It's all just entertainment, so best not to think too much about it all. Thanks for looking.Related content

Ya know........Legendary Godzilla looks the most structurally plausible.

I always did find it odd how Zilla was a mutated Marine Iguana, and yet looked more like a dinosaur than Godzilla did.

It's funny that you say they exceed the dimensions of any land vertebrate as if aquatic vertebrates or invertebrates could rival these monsters.

One thing I noticed about LegendaryGoji is that he doesn't drag his tail. You can see it after the tsunami and when ford watches him walk through the alley.

I thought the Toho original Godzilla was always 400ft tall (100 metres), making the Legendary one smaller than it by 50ft. AND Zilla is supposed to be around 250 ft tall, being 400 when standing erect

"I thought the Toho original Godzilla was always 400ft tall (100 metres)"
That was only in the English dub version. In the true Godzilla canon, the original was only 154 feet tall.

The original was only 50 meters. Zilla is 60 meters.

after doing so many skeletons of bipedal dinosaurs, i could think you should know better the biomechanics of gigantic terrestrial animals to not say that godzilla's original design is realistic and zilla's isn't. Godzilla's legs aren't made for bipedal walk ( they look exactly like those of a sauropod) and their positioning shows that the CG of the body falls behind them so he would just fall on its back... sorry, i have to strongly disagree with your description, but either way you did a greT job at drawing all this skeletons! keep them coming!

Out of the three above, I prefer the original's design, dorsal plates, and stance. Zilla is too much of a deviation from the basic design and something seems a little odd about the most recent one. Nice work though, it's pretty interesting seeing the what lies under their flesh.

I personally prefer the Zilla design since it seems more like a more concrete dinosaur like creature, too bad it had that horrible movie attached to it but the cartoon completely made it up for me in that respect.

Nice work! Of the three, the Legendary Godzilla seems the most biologically plausible in design to my eye. If something like Godzilla could and did exist, I think it would probably look like that design.

Nice, but Zilla looks like not enough tall, because he would be 60 m tall in upright posture, like in this picture: www.google.hu/search?q=godzill…
And the tail of Zilla looks like too long, according to this picture: www.google.hu/search?sa=G&q=go…

In truth, none of the Kaiju could work physically, the physics involved wouldn't allow it, they'd all collapse under their own mass.

I think you should do one with the heisei Godzilla as well because it just sound's like a nice idea as with these three but it's your choice though just saying

Zilla from the 1998 movie is actually 60m tall (197ft)...so he should stand a bit taller than classic Gojira 1954 at 50m tall (164ft)

Like it says in the description, the size changes through out the movie.
For example, look at this:
hdwallimg.com/wp-content/uploa…
The towers of the Brooklyn Bridge are only about 48m tall, going from that Zilla might reach 60m tall if in erect posture, which also seems possible for the one in the scale.

Props citing Dr Yamane. This is a great skeletal study, funny how the original looks like it could be a pre-adolescent of the new one.
