Skeletal reconstruction of Coelurus fragilis, from the Morrison Formation at Como Bluff, Wyoming. As with my other nwe skeletal reconstructions, I first traced the individual bones to scale, then reassembled them, all digitally. This theropod was collected from the same quarry as Ornitholestes and Tanycholagreus, and parts of each were confused and comingled with each other for a century until John Ostrom, Ken Carpenter, and others were able to sort out the mess. There is uncertainty about whether the dentary fragment belongs to Coelurus, but I've included it anyway.
