Description
Well this is a WIP of my first ever attempt at a nude oil painting. It's inspired by a poem I wrote, and will probably give it the same title. I'll post the poem when I post the final pic.
It's already booked ... one of the artists I correspond with saw the WIP pic and booked it right there and then ... feels a little weird selling a self portrait though I have to admit!

YES!!! When I found your page I just HAD to add you to my watch list! I saw your pic back at the beginning of the year ... and it stuck with me, lurked in my brain to surface again every now and then ... it captured so much ... it's a haunting image.
I wrote a poem last month and just had to do my take on it.
When I found your page again I couldn't resist adding you to my watch list to see if you woulf notice it and see what you would say.
I tried to make sure it evoked different emotions (depression, defeat, pain, cold) to yours (terror, fear, skin crawling)
I would like to add a link to you as the visual inspiration to when I post the final version if I may?

wow!!! Im amazed that my painting could have influenced you!! I'm glad I did notice !!
There are certainly different emotions in this than in arachnophobia... Definitely depression and sort of a hopelessness, yours is much more abstract, whereas in mine, the object of the fear is known and obvious, its the SPIDER CLIMBING UP HER BACK!!
I'm flattered you were inspired by me, you definitely gave your own twist to it

Can't for a second understand why you would be flattered or amazed Sara ... you're the real deal!
Anyway ... I'll be watching you to see what other ideas of yours I can hijack.

And by the way, I wish mine came even close to achieving what you have on an emotive and technical level.

Thank you. You are too kind.
It's finished now ... just waiting for a gap to take a pic and post it.
I'm happy with it.
Will def do more.

Okay, sorry for the delay. :C I've just gotten over a nervous breakdown last week and haven't had the heart to comment much on da.
So yeah. Looks real good. C: The lighting is amazing, you have a way with light, especially on the hands, how it strikes each finger differently. I like that. I knew you were made for oils. C: And that's so cool it's booked already, congrats C:

Thanks Em.
I'm gonna try and do proper glazing on this one ... it'll take a while but it will be worth it (I hope).
Hoping that that will give it some real substance, and also make the tattoos (which I still have to add)that "under the skin" look.
All a big experiment.
My son wants to know why I'm painting pictures of myself without cloths on, and if that's why I'm looking so cold in the painting. I wasn't sure how to answer him except to say that I was painting the way I sometimes feel. .... I think he got it ...
