It should, since Megatron is Prime's equal and opposite. Optimus Prime respects Megatron and vice versa and that's how it should be. They are the main attractions of the whole franchise, IMO.

To each his own i guess. I'd like to believe that all the succeeding Transformers series that came after G1 and G2 have in their own small way, enriched and widen the whole Transformers mythology, like the Minicons and the merging concepts in Armada, the various robotic worlds in Cybertron and the Autobot Elite guard and the All Spark concepts in Animated. Transformers itself is far from a perfect concept and that's the beauty of it all. Like the concept it continues to evolve according to the times.
Can you post your comments on the Optimus Prime, Megatron and the other Transformers drawings in my collection if it's ok with you? Thanks!
And for the record, i never was much of a fan of Megatron's G1 transformation mode either.

Sure. I got into the show when I was seven and I just found it really cool. The whole battle between Optimus and Megatron was really intriguing. I started watching it from the Armada series. I am familiar with G1 and G2 as well.
The reason I love the show is because I find it very interesting as to why they are fighting all the time and what they are fighting for. I really like the idea of transforming robots. ^^ Seeing what they are going to transform into next is really interesting. The names and looks are very interesting as well.

I do understand. I got into it at around thesame age myself, only i watched Generation One.It's not that hard for anyone to like the concept really.
Why do you think Megatron has no definite form over the years and various Transfomers incarnations while Optimus Prime has retained his?

Interesting question.
Maybe it's because 'evil' does not have only one form. Or maybe it's because he gets reformatted every time he dies then comes back. Megatron is 'evil' per say. Grant it, Optimus does have his share of deaths, but I think it's because he holed the Matrix that his design does not change.

I don't think that's the case my friend. Evil has many forms, true but then again i think that the main reason why Megatron never had a definite form in the first place because his Generation One form was that of a PK 38 Walther gun which in the cartoons he shrinks and either Starscream or Soundwave hold him and that doesn't paint a very flattering image of him as a leader pf the Decepticons. Imagine that your nemesis is his big blue and red eight/ten wheeler truck and you are what? A small human GUN?! See how ridiculous that looks? That's why he's become a running joke for people who have watched the G1 version. And that's why i think that transformed him into the much accepted or more kickass Galavatron which makes a logical sense, when you consider what Megatron is about, which is destructive force.

I see the point that you're making.
In the Armada Series (my favorite series besides Cybertron) he's a tank which, imo, is much better than a gun. Just my opinion.
