Description
Went with a more dinosaurian anatomy for this godzilla. Didnt want him to have those thunder-thighs either.Bottom, large sketch was basically seeing if I could make Godzilla using different parts of other dinosaurs. Sort of went Frankenstein there...
(not a fan of the spikes either)
Top design was made with a friend's input in mind. He's not a big fan of Godzilla's traditional look so I had him give me instructions on what his preferred Godzilla take would look like based on his aesthetics.
Middle right is of a more slim and fit Godzilla, one that's able to fight against Titans (AOT) and Evangelions with easy maneuverability while still being juuust powerful enough for them to be a challenge.

Honestly, the big middle one and the one to the right look the most believable and "Dinosaurian-Godzilla-but-not-too-dinosaurian-like-Zilla-was" type of thing! Good job! More redesigns would be sick!

I'd rather Godzilla not be portrayed as very much like a real dinosaur, but this is still nicely done.

I would usually see my Godzilla being a hyper-evolved rauisuchian, since they're the most similar to Goji in my eyes

I disagree. I took inspiration and reference from known dinosaurs for the large sketch, while Zilla has much more muman-esque anatomy than mine. If you're referring to the top sketch, then I see what you mean. Wasn't meant to be especially unique with that one anyway.

I've always interpreted Godzilla to be either a synapsid or notosuchian based on his external anatomy's chimeric blend of reptilian and mammalian features, but this is still a really cool interpretation of the commonly accepted idea of him being a "dinosaur", regardless!

I really like how this came out. The rendition on the right's probably my favorite of the three, but all three of them are absolutely great!

This would have been a cool iteration of Godzilla to see in the 90s (I know others here have mentioned the cancelled 1994 version of the film with Stan Winston re-designing the King of the Monsters), it errs on the right side of dinosaur-like "realism" while still resembling the iconic outline of Godzilla.

Interesting! Winston made in the 90s a very dinosaurian Godzilla design for the cancelled american movie. Are you waiting King of the Monsters?

You know ive always considered Godzilla to be non-dinosaurian, maybe something closer related to the reptiles of the Permian/Triassic era. Β Creatures like Ornithosuchus have traits not unlike Gojira really.

Ricardo Delgado would be proud, Fred ! I personally prefer the large sketch at the bottom, definitely more interesting scales. The top one looks quite similar
(but still better) to the 98's american Godzilla design. I also really like the dinosaur species you used as inspiration, which fits the mythology since Godzilla's original 1954 design
was a mish-mash of Tyrannosaurus, Iguanodon, and Stegosaurus.

Some nice takes, though I think I would've used LegendaryGoji's dorsal plates, as they are natural looking, while keeping the "maple leaf" aesthetics. I think the bottom one is my prefer take on a more "Dino-Zilla".
